The guy who told Ross about Marcel is the voice of Homer Simpson

I agree, that water scene is one of the best of the entire show. You can literally see the joy on Matthew's face after he does it. 😂😂

Such a funny episode. Phoebe's songs are ridiculous but great lol. I feel like as a bisexual myself I should be offended by Phoebe saying "they're kidding themselves" but when that kid looks at Chandler it's SO funny that I can forgive the line. 😂😂 And I knew Brooke Shields but I had no idea the guy with Pheobe in this episode is famous in his own right, that's good to know.

Kind of a filler-y episode but it was good. We got some typical Phoebe whimsicalness, Joey and Joey navigating the realities of being a tv star. The goddam monkey again though 😆

I agree this episode was really funny. I loved Chandler and Joey too. Phoebe also killed me ha ha (I must admit I found it really cute when the kid came to see her in the end and called all the other kids). Can't wait for you next reaction. I hope you're healing well btw and that it's not too hard to control your laughing.

That kid staring at Chandler always gets me 🤣🤣🤣 The water-throwing scene is one of my favorites (you'll hear me say that A LOT lol), especially Chandler with his, "And you left the toilet seat up" which he ad-libbed 🤣🤣🤣

Erika is indeed played by Brooke Shields. She's been in shows like Suddenly Susan (she actually won the lead based on her performance here) & Lipstick Jungle and had recurring roles on shows like Law & Order: SVU & Jane the Virgin. As an adult, she appeared on Hannah Montana. But she had a rather controversial career at an early age, starring as a prostitute in the movie Pretty Baby at age 12 (shot when she was 11), in which she appeared in nude scenes with grown men. She also starred in Blue Lagoon just 2 years later, when she was 14 and her male co-star (who played her love interest) was 18. And then Endless Love a year after that where she was 15 and her male co-star (who played her love interest) was 22. According to Brooke, she was still a virgin when she filmed the last one where she had to film a very intimate love-making scene, so the director kept grabbing her toe and twisting it off camera to provoke a reaction that would look like an orgasm. She said it hurt, humiliated and traumatised her so much that she completely shut down. Also, apparently during filming of the scene when Erika is licking Joey's hand, Brooke's then boyfriend Andre Agassi stormed onto the set and they had a huge fight, leaving her in tears. Aside from acting/modeling, she has publicly spoken up about battling postpartum depression. Tom Cruise, who is famously a Scientologist and whose beliefs frown upon psychiatry, condemned Brooke for using and speaking in favor of talking antidepressants. She responded that his remarks were irresponsible and dangerous. She also argued that he should "stick to fighting aliens" (a reference to his role in War of the Worlds as well as some of the more esoteric aspects of Scientology doctrine and teachings) "and let mothers and doctors decide the best way to treat PPD". She also wrote an op-ed titled "War of Words", published in The New York Times, about how important it is to raise awareness and treat PPD, as well as how some medication can save lives (as it did for her in this case). Tom later apologised in person and she accepted. She even attended his wedding to Katie Holmes. In 2023 there was a docu-series about her released on Hulu called Pretty Baby (like the movie), it's really good and informative but sad as well. Regarding the storyline in the episode, as a soap fan myself I can tell you that people like Erika really do exist (and not even just soaps but TV shows in general). They can't seem to separate the character from the actor. I remember Larry Hagman who played J.R. on Dallas once talked about when someone came up to him on the street and shouted "J.R. how could you do this to Sue Ellen?!" (which was the character's wife on the show whom he mistreated/abused). It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. Anyway, while some people think Phoebe's last song is biphobic (as in that bi people are just gay people kidding themselves, which isn't even what she said), other people think the scene was quite progressive because it wasn't common at the time to talk to children about LGBTQ+ issues or even sex at all. As for that storyline, there are definitely better ways to go about it but kids aren't stupid and they deserve to be told the truth. Yeah, the Chris Isaak song is Wicked Game and when he's doing the falsetto he sings a note from that song. He did some acting as well and had a minor role in The Silence of the Lambs for instance. Also, the zoo janitor is played by Dan Castellaneta, who is known as the voice of Homer Simpson and several other characters on The Simpsons. I've said it before but I'm in the minority and I actually didn't mind the monkey. It wasn't my favourite but it didn't really bother me. But I can see why a lot of people don't. Fun facts: I don't advice you to look at the episode's title beforehand because it can be a little spoilery, but this one is called "The One after the Super Bowl: Part 1" and is due to the fact it was aired after the Super Bowl, hence the famous guest stars. Btw, director Michael Lembeck won an Emmy for this episode. Goofs/plot holes: Erika sent a fan letter to "Drake" but sent it directly to Joey's apartment in his own name and later showed up at his door. She could not have found his address without knowing his real name and she clearly believed he was really Drake and had no idea he was an actor named Joey. Also, he probably could have filed a restrainingvorder against her since she was stalking him. When Phoebe first meets Rob, he says "I don't know ANYTHING about music" but at the end of the episode he's playing guitar with her and even sings! And you can clearly see Jennifer can't keep a straight face when Erika/Brooke throws the water at Joey/Matt 🤣

Oh the missed opportunity! Once the Zoo keeper had been told he'd given Ross all the information already. I'd have gone for "Doh" rather than oops! 😜

Brooke shields kills me in this episode 😂😭 she’d be in that weird child prostitution movie as a child and she’d done Blue Lagoon, but this role really showed off her comedic ability. Also the water throwing scene on Joey, Matthew Perry improvised the line “and you left the toilet seat up, you bastard!” Phoebe’s love interest in this episode is played by Chris Isaak, who was a big singer in the late 80s through the 90s, he had an extremely popular song called wicked game where his lovely falsetto is in full display
