We shall

Kristina Fagan

I have a family history of alcohol too so which is why I never drank either

Courtney

How people couldn't tell for sure, totally slays me. Evidently we all have different levels of face recognition software going on upstairs. Seeing reactions like these lead me to do an online test once. If it was accurate, I came out in like the top 10%.

Daryl

"Russ, Ross. Ross, Russ" and Julie gets her spare lol

Ilsuk Yang

"Joey, have you ever seen me ecstatic?" "No" "Well here it is" 🤣🤣🤣

Ilsuk Yang

Yes, that is indeed the same actor, just in prosthetics. To me it's so obvious, not just the way he looks but the voice as well, but a lot of people can't tell which is hilarious to me 😆 Also, to confuse people even more, Russ is credited as being portrayed by "Snaro", which was David Schwimmer's alias and a tribute to one of his friends. The Fun Bobby storyline is actually pretty true and sad. It reminds me of my dad. He's always been both pretty grumpy and VERY emotionally distant towards me and the family, but when he's been drinking he actually opens up and listens. I know he means what he says but I need to hear him say it sober. It's also just a symptom of the problem and in order to get proper help you need to get to the root of it. My dad did the 12 steps a few years ago and he claims to have done the work and really faced his issues, but I honestly don't see it in his behaviour. Besides, he was actually drinking the entire time (and still is) so... Alcoholism runs in my family so I've decided to pretty much avoid alcohol (besides the occasional cocktail) because I've seen how it destroys people and families. I also just don't like the taste of most of it. I actually don't think many people do, because the main thing they are after are the effects. I think it's crazy that we live in this culture where alcohol is just normalised and people even think you're weird if you don't drink, like you must be an alcoholic if you don't. But no, some people just choose not to drink. I think it's okay to have the occasional drink, especially if you're a grown adult, but I personally don't like it. Back to the show though. I get what you're saying about Joey but I think the bigger problem that they don't actually acknowledge is that the casting lady, who is in a position of power, took advantage of him. Flip the genders and people would have a different reaction. Fun facts: Joey's agent Estelle actually appeared first in the uncut DVD version of 1x06, but in the normal TV version she is only mentioned. The actress, June Gable, also appeared before as a nurse assisting Carol giving birth to Ben and the other woman Joey was helping. And John Aniston, Jennifer Aniston's father, played one of the main characters on Days of Our Lives from 1985 until he passed away in 2022.

Heida

Yep it was him - Snaro was an alias he sometimes used as a tribute to a friend

Lee-anne

Russ was played by David Schwimmer (Ross). Also, I love Joey's agent, Estelle, she's hilarious 😂

Christian Esposito

Apparently Russ was played by David Schwimmer, so yeah it was the same person.

Jahnae Phillip

Ha ha, same, I couldn't tell if this was the same actor or not. That part was quite funny indeed. Especially the scene where Rachel finally gets it or the one in the end with Julie.

Shin Yukina

The credits say “Snaro” was Russ, but David Schwimmer played both characters. You can kind of tell they had someone else standing in at certain angles. I’ve seen this hundreds of times and I’ve completely forgotten that Julie pops in.
