Before that it was "I have friends"). Your facial expressions on the first song were just pure gold btw. Oh and I'm surprised you didn't recognize the guy who hired Josh. It was Pillboi from the Good Place (Jason's friend).

Went and looked it up and yes looks like A LOT of it was from Ciara’s Love Sex Magic video, down to the tiger bodysuit and *cough* dance moves 😂 but specifically the waving arms (/legs) at the piano in the sparkly gown is from Beyoncé’s Partition video.

Love that we’re getting to hear more of the characters doing numbers because the cast is so talented. “Hey Sexy Stranger” was so ridiculous- “Is that a GUN?!Oh thank god, it’s just your penis”- is my favorite 😂 And I’m pretty sure some of that one was modeled after a Beyoncé music video? Like the waving arms at the piano in a ball gown I think. Sometimes the songs are general genre parodies and sometimes it’s of something more specific, like “Feeling Kinda Naughty” from ep 2 was very much a parody of Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl”. And YES the Aloha Tech manager played Jason’s best bud on The Good Place 🤗

I hate the traffic going up there though lol One of my top fave songs is “sex with a stranger” and it’s inspired by a Ciara music video. I’m always jamming to the songs and giggling at the lyrics. They get stuck in my head all the time.
