And I do understand why people don't see the romance because it's so different to The Doctor with Rose or with River, it's done in a very unique and I guess subtle way. But yep that is what they intended so maybe now you know that you'll be able to see it more. It's definitely more obvious in season 9 tbf. Also I hope I haven't come across as rude at all and I truly do respect that you don't see them in that way. I just always feel the need to tell people about them being a romance when I see comments saying otherwise. I can't resist. π

Also Danny was the one she betrayed the doctor for so there were deep enough feelings she would have essentially killed herself and the Doctor for. And the fact that the doctor cares to much about her to hate her for it is also a point for family and not neseccarily for boyfriend imo. But again if thats what they intended then who am I to say that itβs not like that haha

Clara did love Danny but never as much as she loved The Doctor, which was proven by Clara lying to Danny so she could stay with The Doctor and by her saying in this episode in her dream that The Doctor was the only other man for her. I definitely never saw The Doctor and Clara as like father and daughter, that was more like The Doctor and Donna in a way, whereas I always felt the romantic undertones to this Doctor's and Clara's relationship were very clear. From The Doctor bragging about taking Clara on a better date than Danny, to Clara saying she doesn't love The Doctor "in that way" and Danny knowing she's lying, to The Doctor saying that her betraying him doesn't make a difference because he cares about her so much, to Clara saying "I love you" to The Doctor when she was on the phone to Danny, to The Doctor saying he'll only hold her hand and being comfortable with her hugging him etc etc etc. And that's just in this season. Sometimes I feel like the only person who sees it lol. But yeah, that is what they intended for their relationship to be anyway. If you're on Travis' Discord I've posted a interview on there tonight of Peter talking about The Doctor and Clara's relationship, he explains it better than I do. On there is the entire interview and also a cut video showing just Peter talking about 12 & Clara that's 1 minute 15 seconds long and that's the one I shared on the Discord. π

If I want to I feel it, I feel some characteristics of a relationship, like maybe an old married couple fighting a lot, maybe Peters acting around Danny as a little jealous. There is tension but real and honest feelings I don't really feel. She also fell in love with Danny while being with the Doctor, not before and not while Matt was the Doctor. I always thought that he was more like a father figure to her than a boyfriend. But If they intended it like that then that's ok. But in terms of Doctor Who and romantic relationships for me it's 10 and Rose all the way.

But that is what it was supposed to be between them. Steven Moffat said so in several intervews and both Peter and Jenna confirmed it too. I personally always saw it even before they said it was, but I seem to be in the minority with that. I'm constantly debating it with people on the Doctor Who Facebook groups lol. Maybe they were too subtle or something, idk.

2024-12-22 02:57:29 +0000 UTCSuch a fantastic episode, I'm glad you enjoyed it despite not being a fan of the dreams within dreams stuff lol. I also love that it was actually Christmas based when many of the specials aren't really. And the guy who played Santa, Nick Frost, is a very well known actor here in Britain. He did a fantastic job. As for The Doctor and Clara, yes they are supposed to be a romance. DMSC below said they don't see it and clearly you don't either. Many people say the same online. But I always saw it. They have amazing chemistry and I feel like their romance has always been very obvious. Plus both the actors have made it clear many times in interviews that it is a romance. But I guess not everyone vibes with it and that's ok. Each to their own. Also a moment that I love in this episode is when The Doctor asks Clara for a page number the last time he says "make it a good one" and she picks page 12, she picked that number because Peter is the 12th actor to play The Doctor. A fun little thing they threw in there. π Hopefully we'll get season 9 sponsored soon, I look forward to you seeing it. π

A couple weeks ago I was dreaming I was in war and had to run across a field to get to the helicopter and people were shooting behind me and in front of me. I look up and see a missile heading straight to me and I try to dodge it and I wake up after kicking my entire bottle of water off the nightstand and then falling off the bed. I was so dazed I had to wake my husband to help clean the spilled water and help me up.
