2024-09-29 00:19:37 +0000 UTCDo you remember the carnival episode? Where Mac and Beaver got the transgender escort to set up Dick. And Dick pins Beaver on the hood of the car and is about to punch him. But, Cassidy shuts it down with just words and the mention of Sally. Now, we're never told who Sally is. But, in the DVD commentary track we learn that originally we were supposed to get that info. Sally was the Casablancas family pet that Cassidy killed. And Dick knew, hence his fear of his little bro. It would've been our first glimpse into the fact that Cassidy is clearly a psychopath. It was cut because Rob feared it would point the way to who was responsible for the bus.

2024-09-28 21:16:47 +0000 UTC"CW?" "It's a done deal." I'D COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT THAT! The first two seasons of Veronica Mars aired on UPN. Then, in 2006, UPC and WB merged to create the CW. There were a lot of questions, at the time, about which shows would make it from each network to continue onto the new CW. It's speculated that that line from Duncan "CW (Clarence Weidman)?" "It's a done deal." was the show's way of telling the fans that VMars would continue. I remember completely losing my shit when the plane blew up. I was devastated. It's kind of nice that Lamb's ego (not wanting Keith to get the photo ops when he arrived with Woody) is what saved Keith. The shot of Logan holding Veronica on the couch is a call back to a shot from the season premiere when, after Logan showed up in the middle of the night, beaten and bruised, Veronica comforted him. And both are references to The Pieta. In regards to S1 and S2, and how they compare, I think I mentioned this earlier, but the two main mysteries in S1 tie directly to Veronica, and almost everyone is a suspect, so it's very engaging. In S2, Veronica is is lucky to not be on the bus, and even when she thought she was the target, it never truly felt like that "personal" of a case to Veronica (compared to her best friend's murder or her rape). Similarly, Logan's bridge-murder case felt very superfluous, but it was the writers' way of keeping Logan and Veronica connected after the break-up. And by the time you get to S2, Cassidy notwithstanding, you have a pretty good sense of the characters and what they're capable of, so no one is under suspicion, which I think takes a little edge of the show. I like S3 more than most people. It's not the best season of the show, but I think it has value and some truly great episodes. The network started to meddle more and so it impacted the way the story arced. It was only picked up for 13 episodes initially, so that back half of the season was all basically bonus content. The guest stars are great. I won't spoil anything though! So glad to hear that you're going to watch it!
