I had no idea she was in it.) Not sure about the show yet though. It's intriguing but the pacing is a bit weird so far. I'll probably keep at it though.

People are too critical with today’s shows and movies and not just enjoying the ride. I think you will enjoy the show if you tell yourself this isn’t the real world anything can happen. I’m pretty sure I had a sleepover with my friends the night the finale aired (complete with A cupcakes) 🤦🏼♀️😂 Not gonna lie I was a huge Ezra fan back in the day, but upon watching as an adult…ummm, it’s a definite no from me now 🤢🤮 Hope you enjoy the series, it’s gonna be a wild ride!

Before anyone realized she was missing, workers had already poured cement the following morning over the spot. It was also 3 years from the time she went missing until her body was found.

It’s usually kids stealing candy and we just tell their moms and they make them apologize and pay us back lol but that time a lady pulled up to our business, I see her license plate and she gets out and puts a paper over her license plate so we couldn’t read it LOL after I already saw it when she pulled up. Came in and stole two expensive bottles of tequila and the owners pressed charges.

She's known for playing teens in TV shows well into her 30s. Melissa is played by Torrey DeVitto who played Dr. Meredith Fell in TVD (and is Paul Wesley's ex-wife) and most recently she starred in the medical drama Chicago Med with Colin Donnell (Tommy on Arrow). Mike, Aria's brother, is played by Cody Christian who played Theo in Teen Wolf. And Bryce Johnson who plays the cop played the hot santa claus in the unaired Christmas episode of Glee 😂 And you're not supposed to know anything about Jenna besides "The Jenna thing" the girls keep referring to and the fact that she appears to be blind.

You might need a bit of a flow chart to keep track of everything the further you get into the show, but it is an awesome and wild ride I can't wait to rewatch with you!! That theme just got to me and I want to rewatch the whole thing right now lol.

Not just the relationship but the way it was portrayed, glorified and romanticised. Aria was 16 and Ezra was AT LEAST 23. Plus he was her teacher! It's so wrong. I think the fact that the actress is obviously not 16 (she was at least 20) makes it easier to watch but still... I remember the actor who plays Ezra, Ian Harding, saying that he found it so weird that everybody liked his character. He was like "thanks for saying I'm cute but my character is gross. Stop liking him so much" 😂 I know it's a TV show and especially on PLL not a lot makes sense, but the plot hole of how they didn't find Alison's body for a year while she was buried IN HER OWN BACKYARD has always bugged me. I haven't read the books but apparently her body was buried where they were building the gazebo and before anyone realised she was missing, workers had already poured cement the following morning over the spot. It was also 3 years from the time she went missing until her body was found. Fun facts/cast: Like The Vampire Diaries, it is based on a series of books of the same name, written by Sara Shepard. She was working as a ghostwriter at Alloy, the book publisher behind Gossip Girl, when she came up with the idea for the series. She revealed that she was inspired by two women she knew who had been kidnapped. The show aired from 2010-2017, lasting 160 episodes over 7 seasons. It is set in the fictional town Rosewood in Pennsylvania. It was originally pitched as "Desperate Housewives for teens" (which, if you haven't seen I recommend). The events of the pilot cover the entire first book in the series. PLL was consistently one of the most buzzed about shows on social media and its series finale was the most tweeted about episode of television in 2017. It also launched 3 shortlived spinoffs: Ravenswood (1 season, 10 episodes each), PLL: The Perfectionists (1 season, 10 episodes each) and PLL: Original Sin. Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is the mastermind behind the last one, which was just recently cancelled after 2 seasons. I have only seen Ravenswood, which was quite different but I enjoyed it. It was unfortunaly cancelled and it ended on a cliffhanger so we never got any resolution. The main 4 girls are Aria (played by Lucy Hale), Hanna (played by Ashley Benson), Emily (played by Shay Mitchell) and Spencer (played by Troian Bellisario). The missing/dead girl is Alison (played by Sasha Pieterse). Then there is Mona (played by Janel Parrish). Jenna (the blind girl) is played by South African born Australian actress Tammin Sursok. Btw, you're not supposed to know anything about Jenna besides "The Jenna thing" the girls keep referring to and the fact that she appears to be blind. The first liar cast was Lucy Hale, who didn't have to audition after forming a relationship with the studio through the short-lived CW series Privileged and had a big following. But she was initially drawn to Hanna. Shay Mitchell originally auditioned for Spencer and then almost lost the role of Emily to another actress. Troian Bellisario didn't think she was a good fit for Spencer, who was a little different in the original script. Ashley Benson was the last of the four main actors cast. Janel Parrish originally auditioned for Spencer. Crazy fact: Sasha Pieterse (Alison) was 12 when they shot the pilot and 13 when they shot the rest of the first season (the other girls were all in their 20s). Usually the pilot of a show is filmed way ahead of the rest because they don't know if it will get picked up. Sasha originally auditioned and WON the role of Hanna, but the producers realised that she was only 12 so she could not work as many hours a day and was then offered the role of Alison. Alexis Denisof was originally cast as Aria's dad Byron and appeared in the unaired pilot but was replaced by Chad Lowe. He's been in a lot of movies and shows and he is also Rob Lowe's brother. Hanna's mum is played by Laura Leighton who was in a very popular show in the 90s called Melrose Place. She is married to a co-star from that show, Doug Savant, who actually played an openly gay man which was very progressive for the time. While shooting the pilot, Ashley Benson actually suggested "Secret" by the Pierces as the show's theme song. Also, Aria's iconic shush pose in the intro was a spur of the moment idea that happened to make the final cut. Lucy Hale once tweeted "Hey has anyone noticed how my finger isn't centered when I am 'shhing' the camera in the intro? Yeah, it annoys me too" 🤣 The first photoshoot featuring the four main girls covered in dirt in a graveyard was so memorable that many people thought the show was called Dirty Little Liars during the first season. The alternate title of the pilot episode is "Popular in Life and Death", which is spoken by Spencer at Ali's funeral. The scene where Wren is smoking (and he and Spencer are shamelessly flirting) ended up being one of creator Marlene King's biggest fights with the studio, citing a Disney policy (it was aired on ABC Family, now Freeform, owned by Disney) that frowns on smoking. They allowed them to let him put out the cigarette butt in a plant holder. Lastly, as an Icelander, I always get giddy when they mention Iceland or Reykjavík (where I live) in TV shows and movies! 🇮🇸
