I think this is such a phenomenal movie all around.

2024-08-11 01:03:10 +0000 UTCMan, this movie is so good and it's easily my favorite movie of the year! And yes, that is indeed Austin Butler and he absolutely crushed this role! When I found out that it was Austin Butler playing Feyd-Rautha, I was like, "the guy who played Elvis? Dude's got range" π€£π€£π€£. The emperor's daughter is played by Florence Pugh. Not sure what you've seen her in, but she's been in a lot recently, so it could be any number of things lol. The imagery, analogies, and cinematography of this movie are top notch. The Bene Gesserits are influencing everything behind the scenes, including the emperor. They spread their teachings across the galaxy, which influence the religions of the many peoples inhabiting the galaxy. Jessica takes advantage of the seed already planted by previous Bene Gesserits and manipulates the Fremen into believing in Paul as the Lisan-Al Gaib (strong analogy to Jesus Christ). The Fremen, even the initially hesitant ones (mostly from the north) are slowly swayed by the musings of Jessica and the bravery of Paul. Paul is an interesting character. The reason he seems so emotionally flat to you at the beginning of this movie is because he's been taught his whole life to keep his emotions under control. You see bits and pieces of him losing control, but it isn't until after he drinks the "water of life" that he fully accepts his role as a manufactured messiah. He becomes much more cutthroat after drinking the water, and he tends to lean towards dominating others instead of winning them over with his charm and bravery like he had in the first half of the movie. Chani is the only one truly bothered by this, but she keeps fighting for her people. I could go on and on about this movie, but I've rambled on for more than enough lol. I'm glad you liked the movie so much! If Sikozu hadn't requested this movie, I definitely would have lol
