You may have forgotten about him but the father of the girl in Ecko's flashback is the psychic in Claire's first flashback, he was the one that told her to not give up the baby and get on the plane, even paid her to do it. Which to me makes her flashback make so much more sense, he was a fake and I think he actually had a real vision with Claire and that's what scared him so much and stopped the reading.
