Locke episodes just hit different, they are always so intriguing and he's such a complex but mysterious character, you never know what's going on in his head and he's honestly one of the best. I always feels so bad for him, his father and Susan, Michael's ex are my most despised characters on the show. And that final moment between Jack and Locke always gives me chills, especially the "it's never been easy" line, so great! Jack is so unhinged because he knows something is going on that he can't explain and he's all about science and it's driving him crazy, he has seen his father, he knows that Sawyer and his father met right before crashing and now he just so happens to be on a deserted island where he crashed with the man he only talked to once years ago and yet is still in denial and can't admit it or knows how to handle it but he has to believe it a little since if he didn't he wouldn't be so upset or care if they press the button or not, that's my take at least. And also we have heard of Helen before, in Locke's first flashback episode he called Kate Helen and also called the phone operator he was talking to, who he invited to come with him to Australia Helen too, now we know it was after this person. I adore this character, she truly cares about him and I love that he gets his leap of faith logic from her. And like others will point out, yes that is the girl Jack was talking to in the finale episode, good catch! And I think why this season fills faster is because the first season we had to get to know all the characters, establish that they aren't being rescued but them constantly trying to figure out how to get off, them surviving and have us learn that there are other dangerous people on the island but they don't need to do that here, they can just go right into the fun stuff, lol. And it's refreshing to have some new faces and characters to get to know.
