I have been holding my breath this whole season, waiting for you to get to the end. “Meant to be.” Will always be the single most tragic line for me personally in the entire show. Mark and Lexi should’ve ended up together. The only other ship I love as much as them is Niklaus and Caroline from TVD/TO/Legacies but Lexies Death holds a special place in my poor heart. Shonda is a grade A asshole. Watching this again lets me actually digest the scenes at the hospital. I couldn’t pay attention to them the first time around for obvious reasons. Loved that moment between April and Jackson at the end; April just needs to figure out the kind of person she wants to be. It’s understandable it’s overwhelming for her tho. And yay for Bailey and Ben too. I love that Miranda has a proper love interest now ❤️

The only comfort I could hold onto throughout the whole episode, was focusing on Christina’s damn shoe! 🤣 Lexie was and will forever be my favourite and I’m still not over it .. which was made clear to me when I hysterically cried through the whole episode, even though I’ve seen it countless times! Lexie's death hit me hard when this first aired. She's one of my all time favorite characters and I love Chyler Leigh so much, so I was a mess on this night. It didn't help that on a different show, my favorite character died as well! It was a lot 😂 I remember this season finale also being extra stressful because a lot of the actors contracts were up. They didn't announce who was returning when they normally would. So through all of the episodes about them all leaving there was a real feeling like a lot of these characters were actually going to leave. Then the plan crash! There were rumors all summer and everyone analyzing every little thing about the last scene. I remember a lot of theories going around because Derek supposedly says "Rose" in that last scene and everyone was trying to make something of that. (I still am not sure what he says then) It was the most stressful time between seasons I think. Can't wait for season 9! When you first started doing reactions to Grey's, I was randomly rewatching season 9 and I remember thinking "It's going to be so long until he gets there." And now here you are! Can't wait! ♥

"... and then he died" from Callie is one of my fav lines in the whole show, besides "just sitting here with my penis". 🙂 They may have left it at this cliff to ensure people came back for s9 instead of protesting against it because of Lexie and those shifts? Chyler Leigh wanted to leave the show to be with her kid, so yeah we mad as hell to this day and we ain't gunna take it, but Chyler got to do what she needed irl. In closing, Shonda is likely (and not at all hyperbolically) a clinical sadist. Idk if you see the shondaland rollercoaster at the end of the credits, but she knows what's she's doing 😑. As heartbreaking and angering as this episode is, I think it was really well done! They do a really good job of parallels between cases at the hospital and what they are enduring at the plane crash. The obvious one being Mark's tamponade: while Christina, Mer, and Derek have to figure out a way to save Mark with items from luggage, they are simultaneously showing you how it's done properly with the right equipment and team within a hospital. There was also a more subtle one with Callie inviting Alex into her surgery which was an open femur fracture.... what Arizona had. Overall there is a theme of getting to the end of one chapter and the culmination of knowledge learned, and while not everyone is able to celebrate, every aspect of the episode is showing that peak and a step toward something new. I have watched this episode a few times and while I cry and wish for a different outcome each time, I have grown to respect it more and more. Shonda is truly an evil genius and it shows in this episode. Can't wait for the next season!

Chyler Leigh (Lexie) wanted to leave to take care of her kids so she actually wrote Lexie’s plane death since it wouldn’t have made since for her to move away from her sister and her closest friends. Shonda had originally planned for Lexie to die at the hospital but Chyler wanted it to happen this way. She also laid under the fake wreckage to film for like 2 days she said. And Lexie dying hurts me the most cause she’s my favorite Grey’s character 😭
