A Shirt 15 Years in the Making
Added 2025-02-04 14:06:38 +0000 UTCAs mentioned in a previous post, I'm helping ConStellation 14 with Artist Guest of Honor Graye Muir-Lewis' show. Graye passed away from cancer on December 1st, so it's with the help of their family and friends that this is possible.
Graye was with Constellation from the start, designing the VERY first shirt.
Graye passed before starting on this year's shirt, so I was asked to step in. I still wanted Graye's work to be the centerpiece, and I felt it only fitting to include their first shirt for the con. "The Year of the Cat" theme is thanks to a song of the same name, which is about time travel. Between Graye's original piece, cats, and time travel, this piece nearly drew itself!
Needless to say, Mafi, Azrael, and Orson Welles, Former Street Cat (TM) helped.
Now to fill in the portal via PhotoShop!
Black and white prints of the shirt design will be available at the art show print shop, with all print monies going to Graye's memorial charity of choice.
As for the finished shirt, BEHOLD!
The blue is darker and the ink lighter in person, FYI! The lettering, etc. are all thanks to the shirt shop.

I haven't decided if I'm adding the portal drawing to the charity auction yet. It's not a finished piece, since Graye's work was always destined for the center, so I don't know if anyone would be interested in it. I welcome your thoughts on the matter--please share them with me in the comments.
