Yes, I have watched the entire series SEVERAL times including every week when it was originally airing, a rewatch prior to the final season and several rewatches from beginning to end since COVID struck in 2020. I know exactly how it plays out, but that does not change my opinion of Fitz nor of that relationship. What you're not gonna do is question if I have even seen the show simply because I have a different opinion than you do as if yours is the ONLY opinion that could *possibly* be held by someone who has seen the whole show. There is room for more than one viewpoint. the condescension, gotta tell you, I'm not loving it.

Fitz is the only selfish one. Olivia tries her best to stay away but he goes to her and she can't fight him because she truly loves him

2024-07-05 02:13:00 +0000 UTCBecause *politically* it looks bad for him to dump his faithful wife who made all of these sacrifices for him and bore all of his children to go bang some woman he met on his campaign while married to her. It all comes down to the fact that as much as it gets him off to pretend otherwise, Fitzgerald Thomas Grant III is ultimately driven by power. If he weren't, he would go through with his plans to try to pursue a life with Olivia, but he never does. Shit, if he hated power so much and didn't want to be in the white house then why not step down immediately during the Amanda Tanner Scandal? Why not simply announce he won't be running for a second term? Why only after he thinks he's out of viable options does he choose a life with Olivia as the future he sees for himself? Because she's his LAST RESORT. He willingly does things to prevent himself from losing power and make it harder for him and Olivia to be together (while pretending he is doing everything he can to be with her to her face to manipulate her) and then spends his entire life blaming other people for the choices he made. He CONSTANTLY chooses his power and then gets mad at everyone around him for doing things to prioritize his staying in power even though he has made it abundantly clear that ultimately that is what he wants. He acts like he's being forced to be there but in reality, he has been fighting and scheming just as hard as everyone else to keep his power and position he's just the only one who won't be honest about it.

People care that you don't give a shit about anybody else's emotions except for yours. Fitz and Olivia in this regard are both selfish pieces of shit. Particularly Fitz. You chose to be President which means you chose to be held at a higher standard. You chose to get married which means you need to honor that marriage. All of the things that fits is constantly complaining about are his own choices but he makes it out to be that the whole world is against him and doesn't want him to be happy 😑🙄. However much you love someone, it doesn't make it okay for you to harm other people in pursuit of that love. Both Olivia and Fitz are CONSTANTLY harming others in their pursuit of one another which I don't actually think is love. I think on Olivia's part it might be close to it, but on Firz's part it is entirely about lust and ownership you don't treat someone you love how Fitz treats Olivia. The whole relationship makes me feel sick.

Like, he stumbled ass-backward into the Amanda Tanner story, remember how he asked all of those beyond-obvious questions and that? I feel like it's super accurate to how Gideon would have handled it. Nobody else would be that dumb but he showed up in the series immediately being too obvious and too pushy so I feel like it tracks. Lol

I just love how in one episode you not only find out the big-ass secret of the whole season aka the Amanda Tanner bombshell but we get the flashbacks to the greatest soulmates of all time with Olivia and Fitz. Now I get the whole why put yourself in this situation question but you gotta remember a) not all the backstory has been given yet and b) if you love someone reason kinda goes out the window ;)
