Grey's Anatomy | 7x22 'Unaccompanied Minor'

Grey's will return the week of 1/1/24!

Comments

Having one fallopian tube removed actually doesn’t affect your fertility. Fr tho we’ve already been there done that w this plot line. And frankly they handled it way better the first time w Burke.

A D

I legit don’t know why she told Owen. She’s already told him she didn’t want kids, there was no point in telling him. She should have just made an appointment on her own because Owen is the type to emotionally manipulate. Derek was equally as disgusting this episode too. The way he talked to Meredith was completely uncalled for. They both McSucked.

Skylizzels

Owen infuriates me this episode! He knew Christina didn't want kids before they got married, then proceeds to pressure her and make her feel guilty for doing what he already knew she would do?!? IT MAKES ME SO MAD

Monica

I don’t even watch Scandal and this pisses me off

Kammy

Can you please edit or remove this comments as it is a spoiler for another show on travis watch list? Even just casting info is a spoiler.

Sikozu

That mother is familiar because she was in an episode of One Tree Hill and she plays a lesbian character named Darcy.

As I’ve been rewatching the series via these reactions I truly dislike Cristina! She’s so selfish, and I’m not just about the baby. It’s always her way, what she wants, what she needs, never willing to compromise or admit she’s done something wrong.

Rebeca

Great reaction ! Let's go for next season ! ^^

Nessie- Je lis, et alors

I hate owen

B

I personally don't like Eli, also owen was a jerk in this episode, and Derek was a bit...bad too, BUT I'm so excited for you to see the next season!!! YOU WILL LOVE IT

Chloe James Grant

Owen can f*ck right off, he made me so mad in this episode. In one tiny point he is correct he should be allowed in the conversation and for it to be a discussion between them, but at the end of the day it's her body carrying the baby and so she has the final say. Her choice and her reasons are totally valid - and I say that as someone who has children! Owen kicking her out at the end is disgusting. Divorce right there IMO.

Laura Shepherd

Yeah seriously how is she not on some kind of more effective birth control by now and taking every precaution? I know nothing is 100% but she only has one fallopian tube after her first unplanned pregnancy meaning it's even harder to fall pregnant and somehow she falls pregnant accidentally again? Such an annoying, contrived plot device just to cause conflict with her and Owen.

Laura Shepherd

Can’t stand Owen in this. Cristina has never wanted children and was always clear on that. He spends the whole episode trying to manipulate her as if she had changed when she hadn’t. If children are important to you you would prioritize that in a partner and obviously agree before getting married. Derek can fuck off too, like of course what Meredith did wasn’t right but she’s right that it IS complicated and the world is not black and white. Derek saying she doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong is so arrogant and condescending, who crowned him the morality police? And the line about her being a bad mother, he knew it’s a trama point for her and said it purposely to hurt her as much as possible. She should have slapped him IMO

Angela

The sub-plot with all the families waiting for the little girl's mom is one of the patient stories that always sticks with me from this show 😭 I never forget that one woman pretending her son is still alive so that the girl's mom doesn't feel bad

Corinne Sigal

They did have somewhat of a conversation when he said "yea, yea" when she said she was never going to have to "deal with that." She asked him what that was about and he said she would grow out of her stance. She was clear then and he still didn't believe her.

JennaB

They had a conversation shortly after they got married when he said "yea, yea, yea" to her saying she didn't want kids. He said she would change her mind and was only saying that because of her current career status.

JennaB

It gets brought up when Teddy first arrives. Babies get mentioned and Cristina says she doesn't want them, Owen is surprised and Teddy looks hopeful. Owen asks her about it but the subject gets changed before they can talk and they don't bring it up again until after they're married and Sofia is born. It's a few passing comments but something they never sit down and discuss. I agree completely. They should have talked about this a long time ago. Especially if you're so dead set on either side of the coin. I feel bad for both of them and at the same time angry at them for not discussing things first.

Lauren

in the 16th episode of this season, Christina explicitly tells owen that she doesn't want children and he outright dismisses her saying shes young and will change her mind so I don't think owens side is valid for the simple fact he refuses to see christinas side (which is what he's accusing her of doing). Also, literally last episode he told Christina she shouldn't be chief resident because "anything that keeps Cristina from being a surgeon will kill her" but now all of a sudden he wants her to be a mother which no matter how they go about it will take her away from surgery. Like he can have his opinions sure but Christina has been nothing but open with him and I think its naive and also manipulative to stay in a relationship hoping the other partner will change their minds about children, like yeah they MIGHT change their mind but what are you gonna do if they dont? stop wasting both of yalls time and get with someone who actually wants children too. Also Owen is really annoying for going off on Alex like that. Like even if it was for the wrong reasons, Alex did the right thing and yelling at him about it is so backwards. Like you also reported it how are you any different 😭 I kinda get everyone else being annoyed with him but Owen?? Also, derek saying Meredith will be a bad mother…one thing you can count on is derek lashing out on meredith when things don’t go his way. I.e. hitting her ring into the woods and also calling her a whore for her moving on after he left her for his wife that he never told her about, just to name a couple. Also, in season 5 dereks mom tells him he needs meredith because she doesnt see the world in black and white like he does so he needs her, I think that definitely is apparent here. Like despite any opinions on whether Meredith did the wrong thing or not, she definitely sees the world in color unlike derek. (alright let me get down off my soap box now)

And I don't know if you're only watching next season on january because you usually take a time off after watching the last one before or if you'll be taking a break in general bc it's the end of the year, either way, I really hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year! 🥂 I'm currently living far away from my friends and family and it has been so lonely, that's why I love seeing your reactions, it really helps me getting through the day, so thank you very much ❤️❤️❤️

Leticia Schmitt

Ugh I can’t stand Eli

I really love how this finale wasn't "crazy" as the couple last two finales were. To me it's just a sad episode. So well written, like everything going to shit for most of the main characters and we don't have like a patient story that's kinda funny or something like that.... they all just died before we even got to know them. Even the girl that survived, that storyline evolved around those who lost their loved ones. For me, it set the mood of the episode and made everything that happened to the main characters more heavy. I know Grey's won't ever be considered "the greatest TV show ever", but there is a reason why the show is still up even after all this time, I think this finale specific is a good example of that. They know how to write those hard moments so well, when to be funny (or don't be at all, like this ep), when to make us sit at the tip of our chair.... So good.

Leticia Schmitt

Right? If he had started watching it already he would had laugh so much when Katie Lowes showed up... On grey's she was just like the opposite of Quinn.

Leticia Schmitt

NOW we know why they mentioned plane crashes twice last episode ! Greys really knows how to prey on our worst fears 🥲

EmmWork

Can’t wait until January!

Meredith

In rewatching I'm realizing just how many Scandal people were on Greys first. Two in this episode alone.

Crystal

it’s been there for a whole week??!! why am i only now noticing 🤣🙈

Emma Mellin

I noticed that last week too 😄

Ali M

i will ALWAYS defend alex idc. also i hate when the patients make me cry. fuck this show

Cassandra Ryan

It was never discussed on screen but it was something that Owen said he knew and hoped Cristina would grow out of.

Cassandra Ryan

unrelated to greys but OMG YOUR SCOTT SHIRT IN THE BACKGROUND?!?!?!

Emma Mellin

I can’t remember if a baby was something that Cristina and Owen discussed but if they didn’t, that is something they should have discussed before saying I do. Children are something that should be brought into this world by people who want them. I agree if Cristina doesn’t want children she shouldn’t have them but I also feel like Owen has every right to be upset. I can’t tell either of them how to feel. They need to reevaluate their relationship ASAP.

Tina Stewart

On my way home on the subway. Can't wait to get home to this banger!

Leticia Schmitt

On a more fun note. Yay April 💕

Sikozu

This will probably not be popular opinion but I hate Christina and Owen plot here for ruining both characters actually. More so for Owen who gets weirdly pro-birth here and I hate his characterization as 'fixing' Christina's view on motherhood. If he wanted kids, he presumably knew she was not gonna change her mind on kids in the future (Or if he did not know her stance, then this just goes back to the fact that he married her too fast in her PTSD fudge state). For Christina I think they just made the character dumb for the sake of the plot. Let's take a character presumably in her 30s working in medical field with firm anti-kid stance for her future, who already almost died 4 years ago (plot-wise) to ectopic pregnancy, and let's give her another accidental pregnancy. And once she realized she is indeed pregnant what reaction exactly she was expecting out of Owen? Either do not tell him at all or tell him after the fact. It is her decision, but her telling him at this time basically gave him unfair (and granted unearned) hope.

Sikozu

This is such an underrated finale. I love it. Can’t wait for s8!

mark

Letting Adele in was definitely where they went wrong with the trial. That was way too close to home and yes Derek is gross but what’s new? 😂 he got some gross a** ways which is why I don’t get why he’s so loved while Owen is made into a villain. I like both Christina and Owen so I still can’t believe they made those two get married. It’s like Lexie and mark, one wants a family and one is focused on their career. It won’t work. Bless their hearts for trying

Shanice British

So many emotions in this episode wow. Owen and Christina should never have gotten married period. Whether or whether not to have a child is a pretty big decision and Christina has always been very vocal about her not wanting to be a mother. And for Owen to try to convince her to do it because she loves him, do it because *he* believes she’ll want it, literally not listening to her when she was saying over and over rather politely that she doesn’t want to be a mother, and then to kick her out of their home when she had to firmly put her foot down?? i see red every time. They’re at a crossroads fundamentally and it won’t budge, while Owen isn’t wrong for wanting a child obviously, he’s wrong for ignoring and trying to pressure Christina into having one. And what realllllyyyy gets me mad about Derek is how quick he fucking is to get nasty with meredith when he’s upset. Like we saw it back when he called her a whore, when he was on that lil killing spree and knocked her ring into the woods, now she’s not going to be a good mother?? And what’s really crazy is back in season 5 i think when his mom came to visit, he was telling her how beautiful and how much he needed Meredith’s pov on life. She doesn’t see things in black and white and that what he needs. Like he and his mother literally had that conversation and then for him fo turn around and not try to see how she could’ve made the decision to help adele is very hypocritical and it’s a recurring thing with derek that i just cannot stand. he’s very set in his way of thinking and he’s got a superiority complex with meredith that comes out in times like this when he’s so quick to devalue her as a surgeon and literally as a person like bleh he’s got his moments for sure when i love him but i disagree with how he handles being upset or conflict almost every time, the more i rewatch im like “damn i don’t even think i like derek”😂😭 And i do feel a bit bad for karev, everyone hates him when he really did just get insecure and make an impulsive decision, but hey gotta grow up and learn that actions do have consequences like Hunt said.

Alicia Cue

I feel for Owen that it is his child too but the more he kept saying I just want a say and decide together I feel like it came across more that really he just wanted her to change her mind and be on his side. Cristina wasn't being heartless she just knew what was best for her and it was not an easy decision for her either, you can see how hard and exhausting it was for her.

Allison

If you didn’t think this through then you’re as dumb as she is 😭😭 I’m dead. He’s right though. Alex was drunk so of course he didn’t do much thinking. He wanted to win so he didn’t think that he was confessing to Meredith committing a crime 😩 Bless his heart.

Shanice British

also yeah that was gross of derek, in my opinion derek is one of the most toxic people on the show

Charlieeee

i agree mer was acting with her best intentions but for everyone to blame alex is kinda harsh.. she broke the law and invalidated the clinical trial.. i know alex wasnt telling owen in his right mind but for even owen whos his boss to reprimand alex on telling him the truth is shitty. and FUCK derek for calling mer a bad mother i fucking hate his ass so much

collette

so excited for the rest of this show honestly your reactions and discussion is amazing

Charlieeee

Yess!! I hope you had a great birthday!!! I was So hoping for this today!!

Jana Fuller

The “yeah! yeah! yeah!”s literally neverrrr get old😂 do it with you everytime
