2023-10-23 19:53:42 +0000 UTCHe told Meredith the other thing awhile ago when Harper Avery came. I was saying that the motivation for his character should be based on that perception. And if so, he would not want to just lean into it to compensate for any shortcoming. He would be triggered by it and want to avoid that perception at all cost by actually being competent. It seems weird for him to lean into it imo, based on history we were given. edit: and it also would have gone perfectly with the title about fighting biology if he was competent, but people kept only being able to focus on his outer appearances and judging him based on that.

It kind of confuses me why they did that with Jackson when he's said that his family only expected him to be the pretty one who couldn't or wouldn't really amount to much else or live up to the family of doctors potential. So you'd think he would almost be like Cristina in ambition to be good and right at his job and be triggered by ever being considered just a pretty face and almost overcompensate. It would also be a nice contrast to see him acting like Cristina usually does while Cristina clearly isn't. And make more sense of why he was into her before if he related to her like that. All in all pretty privilege has downsides.
