Mighty fine shindig! π€£ I love the humor of this episode. Especially Wash's comment to the captain at the end, about the escape & rescue plan, saying, "I was going to watch. It was very exciting!" Lol. The only part I've never agreed with is Mal's reasoning for standing up for Inara. Yes, "Ath" is an ass and deserved to get punched for his rudeness and possessiveness, but Mal is almost just as big of an ass for calling her a whore (and making that "whore academy" comment). Just because Mal says it to her face instead of pretending like Atherton does still doesn't make Mal a gentleman or a good guy. He's still calling her a whore. How is it really any different? Yes, Atherton disrespects Inara as a person, but technically so does Mal, because he's disrespecting her career, which - whether he likes it or not - is something she chose and has every right to do and is a part of her, so his disrespecting of her career also disrespects Inara as a person and disrespects her choices. So... no, Mal, you're not right in this case, as much as you'd like to play the hero and stand up for Inara's honor.
