BILDADDY MY BELOVED-- ok sorry. He is just very important to me. Love that it was revealed that Crowley was indeed the one who tempted his angel to try out "earthly pleasures" such as food and drinks. I totally agree with you, season 2 is leagues better than season 1, and that might be a hot take. But we're focusing on Crowley & Aziraphale, and they ARE this show - but even like Maggie, Nina, Jim, I just like those characters better than the side cast from S1. On that note - my god the last scene of this episode makes me feel so much all at once. Even that far back, Crowley was looking out for Aziraphale and he's just never stopped.

2023-10-01 00:45:46 +0000 UTCTravis, your reactions to this show bring me a great joy. And yeah, I am also in a camp that tighter focus on angels & demons really allows S2 to shine more. Book of Job is an actual story from Old Testament though they really went bare bones with it. I believe in the Bible Job had actually 10 children at the start who all died as this test of his righteousness and yes he was then rewarded with new children (and new livestock, and cure for his head sores etc). I adore our guys weaponizing Gabriel's only knowing of Eve's 'birth' process against all other angels, and clever use of all those ox ribs that Aziraphale devoured in previous scenes. Also the small girl asking to be a blue gecko and Crowley happily obliging was adorable :) Behind the scenes this episode was also a fun case of casting nepotism. Job was played by Peter Davison (5th Doctor) who happens to be David's father in law :)) and Job's son Ennon was played by Ty Tennant - David's son :)
