One of the many times Clark shows herself as a real boss. I always thought of this show as teen Game of Thrones.

I remember being so surprised that this show had the guts to do this. It gave me Game of Throne vibes, because Finn was a major character. Even though I feel like the way they handled his storyline made no sense at al... he was so out of character this season... Anyways, I loved that Clark did what she had to do, she's a really strong female character and I enjoy watching her. Can't wait for more!

One of the things I really enjoy about this season is the shifting power dynamics between The 100 and the survivors from the Arc. When the grown ups arrived and started exerting power, there was obvious pushback from Clarke and Bellamy, Raven, etc., because they'd been the ones in charge, they'd been dealing with the Grounders and the Mountain people, and they'd been governing themselves. And as a viewer, I mostly agree with their frustrations and their defiance, because they do, generally, know better; however, in an episode like this, I am reminded again and again that they are still young people, in the best way and in the most maddening way, I think. They still have hope in the face of absolute defeat. Or maybe it's denial. I choose to believe they're hanging on to hope (for now). Yes, Finn hurt people. Yes, he should be punished, but if you loved him (Raven, Clarke) or you were his friend who fought side-by-side with him (Bellamy, Murphy [kind of, eye roll]), it's understandable that you would want to do anything to save him, because you can't see (or won't see) the bigger picture. You can be selfish when you're young, because you're still learning how to let go. This show does complicated and shades of gray so, so well. Abby, Kane, and Clarke all appealed to Lexa and the Grounders for mercy, but were refused. Yet, in the end, that's what Finn was granted, a measure of mercy with a swift death. So they got what they wanted, even if it didn't come in the way they hoped. And, here endeth my late-night ramblings!
