Progress Report - February + Scene Theme Poll

Hey everyone, hope everything is going well for you and you’re having a good start to the month. Got a few things to talk to you about that I hope is going to make everyone happy as I know there’s lots of people wanting some different kinds of scenes at the moment so I’m going to ry and make sure there is something for everyone.

New Scene + Scene Poll

So starting off with the new scene that i’m kind of working on in my free time it is going to be this one below.

This is a POV scene that I think the majority of people are going to like based of how well  it did in the poll. I should have an animation sketch of this ready for the WIP in about a week so you’ll get to see how it's coming along. Like I said in the poll which was only like a week ago now, i'm going to be using this as a kind of improvement scene where I just working on getting my drawing and animation better. As i'm doing that I don’t have a set date for when this scene will come out but I’m pretty sure it won’t be any later than the mid month update next month but i'm hoping it will be the start of the month update next month. I think rushing it to get it done for the mid month this month would just be a bit to much with everything else I want to try and do.

Now onto the Scene Theme for this months scene poll. There was a lot of people in the comments of the last scene poll asking for the f*otjob or a new h*ndjob scene as we haven’t had either of those for a while now, h*ndjob even longer I think it must have been like 30 updates or so ago that the original one was added so would be really nice to get one of them in. Anyway I got the first frame sketch done for all the options in each of these and there is a poll to decide which one it should be this month

Note - Some of these are still just first sketches and things will probably be changed, mainly with the HJ ones as I tried to get them done quickly to at least show you something :)

For this one above i'm not 100% sure if the side view head or front facing will look best some i'm going to test it out a bit more

For these I have used Lois L head just as a reference because she has short hair it makes it easier to draw everything.

If the theme you want doesn’t win don’t worry it will get its poll soon. Not the next scene poll as I would like to also give the people that might not like this as much a scene they will enjoy so whatever doesn’t win this one will be in the scene poll after the next scene poll if that makes sense. Eg Winner - Different Scene Theme Poll - Second Place as an idea for how the scene themes will go.

Feature Focus Winner

The option that one last months feature focus poll was the new one that was going over some thing from previous scenes that didn’t look as good and either redrawing them, making the animation better or just improving them. At the moment I have some ideas for things that could be improved but there is probably loads of things that I haven’t notice that could be improved.

Please could you comment any small things in scenes or just generally in the game that could be improved.

By small things I mean like, redrawing the B*obs, redrawing the c*mshots. Things like that there are individual parts of scenes, not like whole scenes themselves if that makes sense.

This could also be things outside of scenes for example adding something that makes it easier to switch between the still images in the gallery and also between characters instead of having to back out to the menu, if that’s something people would like

The head redesign option also did very well and probably would have won if I didn’t add in the new option. As that is kind of on the same lines as improving the scenes I would like to try and do a couple more head designs this update.

I was thinking of Tatsumaki and Power but let me know if any other could do with them and I’ll try get them done as well depending how much other stuff I end up improving.

Outfit Systems

Over the past few months I have been updating a lot of the outfit systems to allow me to load any outfit with any character and also making it easier to allow different outfit parts to be used with each other. The next scene I would like to work on for this is the D*ggy Close Up as there isn’t many outfits in this so it shouldn’t take too long to add it and also I have been getting some sketches done for this scene.

I showed you some in the last WIP but her are some more.

Within the next week I should have pretty much all the sketches done for every character and I’ll show you some more in the next WIP. If you let me know which ones you like or any particular characters you like I can start working on them.

However one thing to keep in mind, this scene is quite complex for the view of it so it might be best to have the first few outfits be a bit more simple, just so I can see what works and how I should be drawing it. For example I probably won’t start with Rias or Albedo as they both have quite complex outfits XD.

But anyway just let me know what you think.

New Idea For Multiple Hole Scenes

So I saw someone comment something similar to this but think it could be a really cool idea. Hopefully most of you will have seen you can use multiple girls in the Hole 2 scene, although there are still some bugs with the audio which i’m going to work on improving next update. Anyway the idea is that when I add multiple girls to Hole 3 I should also be able to let you pick between having Hole 2 and Hole 3 in the same scene at the same time, that’s the idea at least I still need to see how they would fit together without things overlapping but if it all works out with that it shouldn’t be too hard to add in.

This is still an early idea though, I first ned to set up the system to load in the Hole 3 characters the same way they are with Hole 2. Then in the future could also see if it's possible with Hole 1, although that’s a way more complicated scene that really needs to have its code fully reworked XD but we'll save that for a later date.

Feature Focus Poll This Month

Last months feature focus poll didn’t have any of the previous winners added to it following the new plan of adding them back every other month to allow some of the other options to have a go. The problem I have now is that I’m actually out of sync with when the scene polls are, the perfect scenario is to add previous winners when there is a character poll that month as I can do the new character for the start of the month update and then do the focus fully on the new feature for the mid month update, this is because the ones that have previously won are normally bigger things to add so its nicer to have a bit more time to add them. Now this month is a scene poll so what I could either do is not add anything to the feature focus poll this month and have it the same options as last time, minus the winner. Or I could add one of the previous winners, however the previous winner would have to be one that allows me to do it in parts so either the “Scene Things or Outfit Focus would be added to the poll. Then next month I would add back one of the other winners and we’d go from there.

Let me know what you think works best for you though and I’ll do that :)

Torn Outfits Feature Focus Idea

This is just a quick idea I had while adding the new outfits to the D*epthroat V2 scene but I was thinking it could be a cool option for outfits where it makes sense to have a torn version of them. Im pretty sure I would be able to do this in any scene and it shouldn’t take too long, depending on the outfit, but it would be nice to hear what you think. If you like the idea I could add it to either the next feature focus poll or the one after to really see what people think of it. But I don’t know it depends if it’s something you would enjoy or not.

Other Small Things

These are just some small things that most of you will probably find a bit boring but the game is getting quite big now which is kind of a good thing as it means there’s a a lot for you to enjoy, however it also means there could be some problems with performance. Over the next month i’m going to try and reduce the size a bit and more importantly reduce how many thing are loaded separately and try and group them together a bit more. This just helps with run time but does take a bit of time for me to set up. The plan is to set up Hole 3 so that it loads like how Hole 2 does which will then in the future allow me to add multiple girls to that scene just like how I have with the Hole 2 scene.

Speaking of hole 2 multiple girls there is still a few bugs and things that could work better with that so i'm going to be working on smoothing that over as part of this “Improvement” feature focus update so hopefully you’ll all like that.
