2023-08-19 19:15:12 +0000 UTCso it might have something to do with the fact that the new characters are A LOT to deal with... plus they just don't seem as relatable as our cast has been these last 4 seasons.. and it might have something to the afect how I binged the season and didn't get a chance to vibe with the characters as much.. it just felt paced differently to the other seasons.. so I'll see how I feel after Travis finishes the season and I rewatch the show at a slower pace.

2023-08-15 05:05:35 +0000 UTCOk, I've watched it. I know how much you hate the shaky cam but I think this season is so great that it's worth dealing with that. Still a weird choice though I agree. Mack and Dani are a lot lol. They're divas and big headed and they're trying to come between Ricky and Gina for their own reasons which you find out as the season goes along. You're not meant to like them so don't worry about that. 😂 Ricky and Gina are just adorable. I feel like this is the happiest they've been. They both had happy moments with Nini and EJ but nothing like this. Literally the giggles and their big smiles and even how affectionate they are with each other is different. The showrunner Tim Federle (a gem of a guy btw) has this thing where he never writes first love relationships to last. He said that rarely is a first love your last love and he really wanted to show that on HSMTMTS. So that's why every character on the show, apart from one, doesn't end up with their first love. And I find that so interesting. Ricky was SO sure he loved Nini at one point but now him and Gina seem WAY more in love than him and Nini ever were. And I love that. I agree that the songs were great, especially Ricky and Gina's duet. I downloaded that immediately. You didn't seem to notice, maybe you did and just didn't say anything, but during the song when it flashed to them in different places those were flashbacks to iconic Rina moments. The first flashback was to them in Ricky's car after homecoming in season 1 when she kissed him on the cheek and he first realized he had feelings for her. The second flashback was to when Ricky sang "When There Was Me And You" from HSM1 to Gina in the rehearsal room, also in season 1. And the third flashback was from season 2, when Gina showed up at Ricky's house to tell him how upset she was that her mum hadn't sent her a Valentine's day gift. And I think doing these flashbacks made the duet even more adorable. Ok, I'll stop talking now. I will be gushing over every episode this season, sorry about that in advance lol. But yeah it was so great to see your reaction. Thanks again for doing this. I look forward to episode 2 soon. 😊

I thought that for me it's a first place tie between 3rd season and the 4th one but now, after rewatching this episode...I'm ultimately choosing season 4 as it's just too good, man...

2023-08-14 19:47:35 +0000 UTCjust finished the reaction and im excited for the rest. i really love this season, its my favorite of them all. about the camera, i do think they go back to the s1 shakiness (which ik sucks for u cause u dont like it) but i think its cause ppl actually preferred it and wanted it back LOL. im pretty sure none of the musical moments have the shakiness though

I'm not going to tell you my opinion on them yet, because spoilers! I remember watching this episode when it dropped and going, "What are you doing here Scott?" 🤣🤣🤣But, how are you gonna have Scott in this episode and not have him sing?!? That's exactly what they did to Idina Menzel in Enchanted, which was the one (major) thing I didn't like about that movie. Anyways, hope you enjoy this final season of HSMTMTS (always a mouthful, that title, even the initials of the title 🤣🤣🤣)
