Prison Story #3
Added 2023-06-13 16:22:28 +0000 UTCThis sounds like a made up story and to be honest, I thought it was. But I had this story verified by two separate people who didn't know I had been asking about it. It happened a while ago though so I doubt anyone could do the same today.
There were once a couple of high level staff members working in Head Office that wanted to go and inspect a regional prison (country town prison). They caught a plane out to the nearest airport in a light plane and, after some time, landed at their destination. After a short amount of time they had collected their bags and were looking around for a taxi. They spotted a man refuelling the plane so they walked up to him and asked him where they could get a taxi. He told them to wait one moment and he would organise it for them. When he was done refuelling the plane, he disappeared for a few minutes and came back driving a taxi. The Head Office staff were a little unsure but they hopped in and headed into the town.
As it was getting late in the day they decided to go to the hotel and pub they were booked in for and stay the night before going to the prison the next day. They arrived at the hotel and for some reason the taxi driver comes in with them.
“Just go wait at the pub counter and someone will be there to help you in a few minutes,” he tells them. They walk over to the counter and wait. Sure enough, after a few minutes, someone walks up behind the bar towards them and they are surprised to see the same taxi driver and airport attendant waiting on them. They order a few drinks, get their rooms and go to bed.
The next morning they get up make their way to the prison. They wait at the gate for the Security Manager to come and escort them. After a short while the Security Manager comes up and the Head Office staff were stunned. It was the same man that had refuelled the plane, driven them in the taxi and waited on them in the bar!
Not long after that, the Security Manager was transferred back to the city.
