Your Insight Needed + TCV Podcast
Added 2022-03-21 01:54:25 +0000 UTCHello dear Patrons,
We’re working on getting our interviews into podcast format - woot woot - and I’d like to add some short “asides" in a few places during each interview to give an extra layer of understanding. These would also serve to create something that sets the podcast apart from the YouTube format. I’m taking inspiration from the Ologies podcast by Alie Ward, where she does similar interviews and gives occasional, short “asides” to add more context.
My question for you: would any of you be willing to help me skim through previous interviews to select moments when an aside would be useful?
A good example of an aside I’d like to do could be found in the recent Joakim/Sabaton interview. We took a rather long conversational detour to talk about virtual instruments & VSTs - something that I imagine isn’t a particularly well-known topic for many of you. When we convert Joakim’s interview into podcast format, I’ll give an aside that’s around 30-60 seconds long to set the stage for what a virtual instrument is so that it’s easier to follow along with our conversation.
I’d love to know what “asides” you would like to hear in your favorite interviews. Do you want me to talk more about vocal hemorrhages in James’s interview? Or maybe go into more depth on pulse register during Geoff’s interview? It’s difficult for me to know what kinds of things would be most valuable to you - which is why I’m asking for your thoughts.
Ideally, I’d like each interview to have around 5-8 asides. If you’re interested in helping, I’d ask you to note time stamps from the YouTube interview and the subject that you’d like me to delve into more.
The first three interviews we’re considering converting are Devin Townsend, Geoff Castelucci, and James LaBrie (we have various reasons for starting with these, and will get to all previous interviews before the end of the year). If you’re interested in helping, I’ve created a Google spreadsheet where you can make suggestions for your favorite interview. Feel free to message here or ping Kirk if you have questions. And THANK YOU!!
Bests,
Elizabeth

I should be able to put some time in on this in a couple of days. :)
