A New Campaign

If you were starting a new campaign, which of these feels most compelling to you as a player?

#1. Mage Academy

master the magical arts / unravel mysteries / go on cute adventures

#2. Grand War

engage in tactics and espionage / go on diplomatic missions / seize victory

#3. Marooned in an Unknown World

survive against the odds / fend off monsters / begin a new civilization

Comments

Grand War for sure. It opens itself up to great RP with the right players at the table.

estou mestrando uma campanha D&D 5e Spelljammer, adoraria uma temática de sobrevivência em um planeta diferente

Mestre Sábio

I'm currently running a Hex Crawl which has the monsters in charge ie goblins, orcs, and giants. Well, really Hags are in charge but nobody knows that yet. Anyway, Session 1 was escape the goblin camp. Now, survive. (No stores only harvesting "Hamund's Handbooks" and bartering. So, far so good. Would love more ruins maps as this has an element of post-apocalypse in all terrains. ;)

I'm actually running the third right now, so naturally I'm most interested in the first

LANCE MANLY, SORCERER OF SIN

Survival on a strange world is always fun but an engaging, court-intrigue, Mount & Blade campaign is something I would just die to play.

Given my most recent campaign idea is "Surviving a hostile environment for spoils and riches." I'm gonna go with the Survival one. :P

The idea of a grand war is intriguing, taking place over a huge battlefield or sneaking into a sprawling encampment! Lots of challenges with traversing the alternating routes or terrain. Excited now…

I have previously played games with espionage, heists and some political intrigue. It's not what I'm looking for right now. School settings have never interested me. An unexplored wilderness provides plenty of opportunity for the wonder and new experiences that can make rpgs so great, so I'd go for that!

Just to be clear, we never said anything about HP, our Mage Academy would be nothing like that. We didn't say Grimdark either.

Cze and Peku

I certainly have 'grand war' in my campaign, but was also considering introducing a mage academy, so good timing on either!

Nobby

Harry potter sucks, and grimdark war stories are just an excuse to be edgelords. No, fantastical adventures in an unknown world is the true essence of RPGs. Simple as.

I absolutely can't stand politics in my dnd game. I couldn't care less about a grand war. So it's gotta be 1 or 3; as long as we aren't playing gritty survivalism.

FoxArris

I would love to see a Survival Campaign and apply the monster crafting system from battlezoo to make the equipement more interesting
