Weekly Poll #34

Hey everyone! We're back with a new poll, we haven't run one in several months so we've got tons of suggestions. Remember you can vote for as many as you like. We'll make the winner and the runners up will get added onto the next poll.

If you're in the Master Cartographer tier or above and have any suggestions for the next poll leave them in the comments below or come join the discussion in the Map Suggestions room on our community Discord!

Sorry if you've suggested something and it's not on the poll below, we reached the max amount and tried to pick the one's not similar to past maps.

Modern isn't really our style, we're not completely against it but it's somethin we haven't really attempted yet either.

Have you checked out the Depths of the Festerwood map? That's a spore covered forest!

Cze and Peku

Suggestion: A Spore Corrupted Forest Map

Zachary Doe

Suggestion: Triton / Sea Elf settlement

No no not a clock tower per say... But a clockwork one if you get what I mean... One filled with machinery as if it was to make Warforged, Toys, weapons, a general variety of things almost like a factory of sorts.

Mini_heals

Aaracokra Village Square would be fantastic too. Right mix of mundane and fantasy.

Nobbynob Littlun

Dang, logging camp has so few votes... I know it doesn't sound so exciting as others, but it'd fit nearly any campaign! Lots of logging camps out there in the world, not so many biomagical golem labs. Rice paddies would have been great too.

Nobbynob Littlun

I think any map that has multiple uses are the best, I can't see myself using multiple options for a 'magical school room' as often as I can for a bloodied battlefield.

It's been on so many polls and never won. But people seem to keep suggesting it! I guess there's lots of clocktowers people fight in.

Cze and Peku

I wonder how a clockwork tower would do as a future map?

Mini_heals

That might be the case but we don't want to needlessly shoot down people's suggestions because we're reached a cap of ideas. It's fun seeing all the suggestions come in.

Cze and Peku

tbh I think this is way too many options for a poll.

FOREST MAZE! I mean, how can anyone vote for anything else!? :D :D :D <3

I've been working on putting together an adventure with a group of your maps. Namely, the Ogre Massacre, Abandoned Mine Entrance, Guild hall, Windmill, Monestary, and Fork in the Road. However, I think a cave crawl map to go with the mine entrance or dungeon map that fits with the temperate castly environment (perhaps similar to the Spider dungeon sewers) would be a nice addition and make it feasible to have a nice finale and adventure similar to Lost Mines of Phandelver. I hope you'd consider that sometime soon! Thanks for the maps so far!

Are there ever polls that are restricted to a more narrow theme? Somebody commented above about middle-eastern/ancient Mesopotamian type desert maps, perhaps we could vote on a theme and then vote on a map that fits that theme?

Iain Haukka

I'm inspired to homebrew by every one of these selections....thanks!

Dee Cardenas

I hope pretty much everything on this list can be made eventually. Its a really great selection of maps! (And im glad i can vote for more than one haha)

oceanicsurvivor

Yaass. When I receive Kobold Press' Southlands KS, I'm definitely going to want to run some desert themed encounters.

Benjamin Rhoades

Having a variant for a "divine" court would be awesome as well, in case the heroes were ever put on trial by the gods...

Benjamin Rhoades

Which is these will have the most rooms, or opportunities for exploration? I would like more maps that have more than one giant room (amazing, beautiful, giant room).

Deepweb

All of these sound so great. I think last time I was really hoping for the gothic spaceship, and while I don't need one of those anymore, I would LOVE to see y'all's take on it.

Sailor Business

I was browsing through your previous maps for ones/pieces to use in my Modern-Mythology campaign and wondered if you have ever considered more modern maps? Like a magical DMV office building or Mall?

Sarah

You're really good at making big setpiece maps, with open spaces and grand decorations. But I really wish you'd make more detailed interior maps of buildings, with winding corridors and furnishings. For example your Vampire Mansion, Minotaur Labyrinth, and most recently the Shadowfell Fortress Interior are all wonderful, with nice hidden passages and beautiful layouts. I'd like to see more of those. If you go with your necropolis idea, having a winding catacomb tunnels, multiple small crypt chambers furnished with golden sarcophagi, and multiple secret entrances and exits would be absolutely wonderful. Oh! And maybe an ossuary chamber with bone chandeliers and walls lined with skulls!

Alessandro Masi

Oozelord Den sounds like it would fit perfectly with the Out of the Abyss Battle for Blingdenstone! Would make for a classic map, sought after by all roll20 Oota dms

Eli Marr

If I could humbly suggest a unique map idea to you: I’ve realised there’s quite a scarcity of quality urban maps made purely for desert-themed campaigns. Babylonian-esque city streets, grand bazaars, golden domes, the Hanging Gardens or an ancient Persian palace; I can’t afford commissioned works, but I'd be curious to see what your limitless imagination could come up with!

ElusiveGenie

An Arcane Clocktower just sounds so intriguing.

Hoping desperately for the courtroom votes to pick up - if there's one place I know I'll someday need a battlemap, it's in the courtroom after the party unsuccessfully try to argue their way out of throwing fireballs in a public area...
