Hey everyone!
Nothing drives innovation quite like prosperity and the people of Cragtown know this better than anyone else. With the discovery of coal in the canyons just outside of town, it was only a matter of time before they caught the eye of locomotive makers and every prospector worth their salt looking to make some coin. Before long, the coal mine had its own track, with crank operated mine elevators for the coal and tipple to easily load the coal onto train cars for transport.
And with this new influx of prosperity came the attention of those who werenβt interested in making an honest dollar. The small mining town has found itself at the center of attention of entrepreneurs, bandits, and train robbers alike. With outlaws around every corner, the mines are well-guarded, and always in search of honest folk to aid in escorting their goods to safety. Will you be keeping the hard-earned coal safe, or taking your robber's share when the next shipment rolls out?
Let me tell you, this map has undergone a ton of changes! This started out as a Sulphur Lake designed for the Dracolich but somehow ended up as a Coal Mining Station! This is definitely our most meandering map in terms of its evolution. But luckily that means there's a whole variety of variations for you to choose from. And of course the tracks are built to fit the steam trains and lightning engines we've made.
Thanks to our friend Paulo over at Aanry's Book for helping us finish this map up. Go and check out their Patreon for new monthly 5e monsters.
For those of you not playing a Wild West type game there's desert canyons, lakes, sulphur lakes, craggy coasts, tar pits, impact crators, serene beaches and more in the variations!
We're still working on the Shadowfell Fortress and we've got a Japanese themed map coming next month, so look forward to those next month!
