Dec. 2020 Edit: Hey everyone! We've updated all the Foundry VTT-ready maps and how we present them. There was a recent Foundry update that necessitated editing all the lighting in the maps. So we decided to update how we present the maps to make them easier to update in future.
Step-by-Step
1. Copy the Manifest URL from below.
2. Go to Add-On Modules in Foundry VTT.
3. Select the Install Module button on the bottom left.
4. Paste the Manifest URL at the bottom of the pop-up window and click “Install”.
5. After it has installed, launch your game and go to your game settings and click “Manage Moldules”.
6. Find the new map pack, click the checkbox, and select "Save Module Settings" to activate.
7. Go to your Compendiums, and the new map pack will be under the Scene section.
8. To use a new scene, click on the compendium, right click on a map and select “Import”.
Thank you for these. Could you possibly put a changelog in this post, or put dates on the links as to when they were added? It's hard to tell what you updated with each change, so I'm not sure which ones I need to add in.

Hi,
I understand your stand on map packs:
"A frequent request has been for a master module, which we won't be providing for a multitude of reasons, not least as it would be almost unusable due to how Foundry indexes compendiums on load. All of our maps and variations comes to about 23gb of files, which no one wants to have to have to load up each time they boot up Foundry."
Myself, and probably everyone else, would be loading the map pack only when we need the maps. Also, you could do map packs with a bunch of them.
Other map makers do offer that option, and many people are asking for it. I assure you I'd use it.
How about at least sending a poll to let your patrons have a say on the matter? I'd happily pay just for that convenience.
Thanks.

I need to update these! We've actually made quite a few of these modules now, just been swamped with map making. I'll do these today. :)

We just keep the compatibility version as 1.0.0 on the advice of the Foundry team just so people can still use them with older versions.
They should all work absolutely fine in any recent version of Foundry. Hope that helps!

Where a map name is text only, no link (i.e. Ages of the vale) does that meant the module files are not yet available?

Echoing the request to have a master module with all the maps. It's frustrating to have all the maps in separate modules (especially with the naming convention of keeping the creator's name at the start not following), and like others, having the ability to have readymade maps on the fly is what is critical in the games I run and what I signed up for.
2021-08-11 11:57:07 +0000 UTC
As a new patron, I want to add on to the request of a master list. really not looking forward to adding all of these maps one-by-one
After adding a few: They need to have "Cze and Peku" at the start of the module name! now it's just a huge mess of random maps throughout the module list. I have a ton of modules installed, and other map makers have their name at the start so you can easily find maps by said maker
2021-08-07 11:46:07 +0000 UTC
Is there any way to share the joint module you've created if you wouldn't mind? I've just recently subscribed to Moonlight Maps as well and their singular Compendium is just perfect.

It's not that simple. We don't make the foundry versions ourselves, they're done by a member of the community, so it depends on what time they have available and how complex the maps are (and how many variations). There's a lot of variables. We're trying to get them all vtt ready within a month but its out of our control a lot of the time.

I would also like to add my wish for a compiled module into the pile. I think if you do a module compilation in 'batches', or even consider moving it to a bundle-purchase (maybe not on Patreon? Not sure what a solid monetization effort would be), people who want to use your maps for foundry will have a convenient means to do so.
It's unfortunately very difficult to keep up and manually add these maps and add onto a very large, growing list of modules on my list. I have about 20 modules that are actually modules and maybe 60 or so map modules.
Maybe it will also help to rename the modules to be grouped together as well, as right now foundry lists modules alphabetically -- Putting Cze and Peku at the front would at least group all your modules at the 'C' area and it makes navigating much more straightforward.

2021-06-24 16:05:28 +0000 UTC
Same from me as already said: I really don't want to import 80+ maps by hand into foundry. A selection of master modules (maybe grouping 10-15 each) would be the best choice. Even if a patron jumps off they will not get free maps for forever, as after a while a new module would be started. Please consider it.

2021-06-11 19:54:07 +0000 UTC
I know you seem hesitant to make it just one big module so maybe an option could be to make the master post here a bit easier to navigate, either by putting out the date the map was made ahead of the name, so one can easily scroll that way, or alphabetical order. Because as it is right now is kinda messy and easy to miss what you are looking for.

Don't mean to be a pain, but just want to echo the requests for a joint module. I have a shared module I've moved everything into, and it doesn't cause any performance issues (slight delay when I open the compendium, but I usually pull stuff out via Quick Insert) and it's great to have so many maps pre-configured and ready to go if my players go in an unexpected direction.
A native option for this would probably save a lot of people a lot of time, but understand if it's not a priority atm.

Master file module would be ideal. Regardless of expectation, additional options are always useful. And allow a far easier, and less messy (many modules vs 1) setup in many aspects.

Ok so what I was hoping for here, would be more a master container module so I don't have to sort through all the modules individually then all the sub images. Right now it is kind of hard to find and manage all the different maps in game not to mention all the bit flipping.

I don't think this is true - adding a compendium of scenes that do not get loaded into memory until they are imported does not come with overhead. Your expectations could probably align better with our needs since we want to have quick access to all your beautiful maps. Not all of us know what maps we will need ahead of time because we play more open-ended games where player choice can dramatically change the course of events.

I know people keep requesting a single module, but we don't expect you to download them all at once, only when you need them. Adding tons of modules to foundry (or one big module) slows it down anyway and isn't really optimal for the VTT.

Just working with Bridge Town and found the references (guessing, based on my limited FVTT knowledge, in the modules/czepeku-73/packs/maps.db file) to the actual map images are pointing to the wrong folder name. They are referencing modules/czepeku-72/maps/ (which I think is the Lightning Rail Part 2 map pack) and I'm guessing they should be modules/czepeku-73/maps/. If I change it once I import it to czepeku-73 all is well. Thought you might want to update that.

I think an alternative method of delivery would be a manifest url for ALL of the maps, creating a compendium so we can browse the maps in Foundry rather than having to manually add every single one or come back to this post and find the one we want for a given day.

I wrote a little script to unzip all of these and combine them into one big module with just one "Maps" compendium and one "Actors" compendium (for Baba Yaga). There were two problems with the data that I noticed. I don't think either would actually impact someone importing the module, but they did confuse my program. Figured you might want to "fix" them, especially if you're updating them anyway.
1. The actors.db pack in the Baba Yaga module has 2 entries for the "Baba Yaga" actor and 3 entries for her hut. I *think* foundry only remembers the last loaded copy of record, so lines 4, 3, and 1 can be deleted from the actors.db file. I'm not too interested in the actors so I haven't really looked into it yet.
2. The scene pack in the The Wild West Saloon module does not use "maps" as it's name, like every other scene pack in every other module does.

You can. Take a look at this post for instructions on how to create a blank module that you can add to: https://www.reddit.com/r/FoundryVTT/comments/fvw3c7/how_to_create_a_tiny_module_for_shared_content/
Then, you can just drag and drop scenes or other entities into your new "shared" compendium within the module. Fair warning though (because I did this myself and combined all of their maps), it's a LOT of dragging and dropping -- BECAUSE CZE AND PEKU ARE AMAZING AND HAVE SO MUCH FANTASTIC CONTENT -- so you'll have to set aside a good chunk of time. If you're brave enough, there's probably a way to edit the .db files directly and avoid the drag-n-drop interface... but devs on the Foundry VTT Discord channels warn against ever editing .db files.

(Sorry if a repeat) - not sure if anyone else posted this, but if you use the Compendium Folders module, the maps may not show up right away. They'll get defaulted to "Unassigned", so you'll need to put them into a folder. It's an extra step, but on the plus side, you can make a folder just for your C&P goodness.

As someone who uses Foundry avidly, and someone who has been using Foundry since pre-Alpha, I'm afraid to say your approach feels awkward. It forces your patrons to install all of the maps from a single release onto their Foundry installation (which can be problematic for those using hosting services, or those charged for storage like AWS). I feel like the better situation for Foundry users would be to export the scene configuration data for each map, and then have it available for people to download per map. This means that a person only has to create a scene, upload the scene data, and then upload the map. This has a slightly longer setup time, but it doesn't clog their module menu with several map releases, and it saves on storage.
I'm glad that mapmakers are beginning to support Foundry, but I hope I've elucidated as to why I do not want this to become the norm.

You guys are absolute legends for doing this! I just ran a session a 2 weeks ago on Foundry using the Thieves Guild and manually made my walls and doors. After finishing the encounter, I deleted the walls so my players could appreciate the awesome map. I was sad that I just didn't duplicate the scene and make the duplicate wall less. Now I can just download the one here, and its done! Making GMing work so much easier with these! I'll never be caught without a map for an encounter now :)

I will just throw it in, that providing manifest url inherently means that ZIP download is public and unprotected, so anyone can download it, even without Foundry, as long as they find/get the link. So there are pros and cons to that solution.

Module being in Foundry's library means it's public and anyone can download it. For obvious reasons Cze and Peku don't want it to be free :)
We are looking for alternatives, but currently manually downloading zip and then uploading to your server via SFTP (like FileZilla software for example) is the only way

I am experiencing this right now. Not sure of a solution yet.

Will you be looking into doing what the MAD Cartographer did, and provide a .json URL for those that host servers through 3rd parties to make this easier?
From their Patreon:
"To add the map pack go to your "Add-on Modules" before entering your world, click "Install Module" at the bottom, then paste the URL below into the "Manifest URL" at the bottom of the popup and click "Install". Done!

Especially for urban maps! I'm running an urban campaign and manually dealing with dozens and dozens of walls and doors is a pain. You made this DMs life easier! If we can get an occasional urban map like this I'll be so happy!

The "City Streets" pack isn't working for me. I'm installing it the same way I did all the other packs and they're all working. When I try to activate any scene from this pack Foundry says "Canvas drawing failed for BackgroundLayer, see the console for more details." Has anyone else had this issue?

This is awesome!! Have you considered setting up a module in the Foundry module library thing so people can install directly through the program? I also use FoundryServer.com to host my game, and I'm admittedly not very savvy whatsoever when it comes to the technicalities of how all that works, so I honestly don't have a clue how to go about installing these when the folders I need to access are not on my PC (and I'm not sure where to find them through my provider!). Either way, love seeing this!!

It's for the same reason we don't do this for the regular maps: the patreon upload limit is 210mb.

It would be convenient to have a combined module of all the maps together so you can just download that and activate the one module in the settings menu rather than having a bunch of individual map modules in the list.

That is a "probably". We are looking for alternative ways of distributing module, but nothing seems "easy" or "fast", so for now this is the only way.
I would suggest using some SFTP client like FileZilla, it makes transferring files to server a breeze :)

Tom Cartos is releasing Foundry ready maps as well :)

I'm excited I love foundry vtt and Cze and Peku...Do you think there will be a better way in the feature to manage the files for Foundry VTT. I host my foundryvtt on a server, and uploading modules VIA folders is not as easy as windows drag and drop.

This is incredible, keep up the awesome work guys! I'd love to see more creators work with foundry to streamline the map setup process for Dms like this, I can't begin to tell you how happy this makes me!

All was fine for me except for city streets, wrong path name for that one.

This is great. However for me the patrons only email files do not work, only the Foundry ready ones do. Is this intended?

I think you may genuinely be one of the best Patreons out there, you've made being a dm so much nicer!

ZIP needs to be extracted. And due to little misunderstanding folder names are currently wrong. Module's folder name must be exact match for the `name` field in `module.json` file. So for airships, proper path would be:
Data\modules\czepeku-43\module.json
It should be sorted soon

Thanks so much for this! I love Foundry.

Does it only work if we have our data in the default location? My data is in H:\Dropbox\DND\_Maps\_Foundry\Data\Modules\ and still isn't working.

I've just noticed there might be some file name pathing issues. I'll try and sort that asap.
