Welcome to Knotside!

Your cart rumbles up a dirt track and grubby men shout out offers of grilled Owlbear to you from squat roadside tents. The Winter Gate is ahead of you, you clutch your sword and pull your cowl over your face as a guard inspects your wares. You slip him a bronze piece and he lets you on your way. The gates open ahead of you and you breathe a sigh of relief. The city is Knotside, the royal city clinging to the banks of the Fairknot River. You've heard rumours of foul miscreants corrupting this once fair city, plagues run rampant and innocent children snatched from their cots. Is it the work of rogue wizards, Vampires, Demons, Devils or Drow? You don't know but you think the band of adventurers in that tavern might just have the answer...

*ahem*

For a long while now me and Peku have been working on a new project: the Royal City of Knotside. Let me tell you all about it.

We've had a lot of requests here for standalone buildings: taverns, inns, weapon shops, medieval houses and churches, the list goes on. Well, we figured we'd make a new Patreon just for that! TL;DR: Czepeku's City Maps

Each week we'll be releasing a new building battlemap. Each building we release is a location in the city map above. Over the months we plan to fill out the whole city. This way not only will you receive a new battlemap you can use each week but interesting ways to tie them together and a giant hub your players can roam across.

The maps are designed for heists, assassinations, tavern brawls, weapon shop stick-ups and all the other fun you can have in fantasy medieval buildings.

Unlike this Patreon, we've decided to keep things simple, there's just a single $10 per month tier. So you'll recieve a battlemap each week for $2.50. It may be one floor or several, but you get a floorplan, a rooftop and a night time variation.

Expect to find brothels, alchemy labs, underground fighting pits, war rooms, treasuries, churches, thieves guilds, forts and more.

Interested? Go here: Czepeku's City Maps!

For those confused or concerned, this won't affect our current patreon at all. Things will carry on here as usual, we just wanted to take a shot at new and exciting project and we hope you'll all join us for it.

Everyone who signs up this month will also recieve three of our DnD monster token packs as a thank you. :)

Welcome to Knotside!

Yea I did notice that. Thank you.

Unfortunately not. This was a side project for a little while but we decide to focus on the battlemaps here instead. The 12 or so maps we made for this project was repackaged as a release called 'City Streets' which you can find here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/knotside-city-32719493

Cze and Peku

are there any descriptions for the places on this map?

Adee

Hi Nicholas, this isn't a thing anymore, it only ran for a few months. We took all the maps we made for it and provided it up here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/knotside-city-32719493

Cze and Peku

Is the city map thing still a thing? The link doesnt take you to a working site.

Thanks Kaden, I'll take a look into WorldAnvil, I've heard of it but never delved into what it actually provides. :)

Hi Joseph, a similar question was brought up on the Discord so I'll copy that reply in case others want answers for why this project wasn't incorporated into our existing Patreon: "We want to experiment with a pay-per-month model. The current system of per-per-content is nice in theory but unstable for us to live off of. The majority of patrons have their maximum payments set to 1 per month. So there's big diminishing returns on each map we make. It becomes disheartening making the 2nd map of the month knowing it'll probably bring us half the income of the first map. The real issue is that Patreon doesn't let us know how many people have set their maximum to what, so the income at the end of the month is always a surprise, which makes budgeting difficult. So that incentivises against releasing more maps each month, but we knew with this project we wanted to be releasing 1 per week. It's a big city and we're excited to fill it out. Hence a new pay-per-month Patreon. Hope that explains things."

Honestly I’d rather have this combined with the $10 tier on this Patreon - as the $10 tier here honestly doesn’t have much to make it worth it and I recall Cze asking what else can be provided to the tier as incentive - this could be wonderful for the tier, and I was thinking about going down a tier since nothing I really use is provided. Just my constructive opinion tis all.

Love this idea! can't afford it right now, but I'll keep it in mind... meanwhile, I wonder if you're familiar with WorldAnvil? I haven't delved real deep into their new kickstarter, but from what I know, it sounds like it'd be perfect platform for you to host Knotside (and from their main platform, I'd assume you could keep acess to it patron-only)
