Making a bismuth knife for NileBlue

Hey guys, this is the first NileBlue video in a while. Let me know what you think or if you spot any mistakes!

Making a bismuth knife for NileBlue

This was the first nilered video I ever saw and have been drawn in since. My little boy and I get so excited to see what's next👍☺️

Dani Jakob

Parts of that hurt to watch, but overall, it was fun. Also wow, almost 1M views on a NileBlue!

Thomas Jager

Granted, Bi is not as dangerous as Pb, but shouldn't you have been wearing a mask and googles all the time?

John Ioannidis

I hate those over safety glasses, another 5 years of support, maybe you can get some proper prescription ones

You do whatever you want to with your weekend, it's none of my bismuth.

Ulrich

1st stone with the grooves was a leveling stone for the other stones lol

ARPLATINUM

Im so glad I wasn't the only one disappointed with him melting it at the end

Zach Feliz

Why do you have a stack of US dollar bills on your desk? Shouldn’t it be a pile of Loonies?

Ash

NileRed cutting sad old vegetable brings me so much joy. The knife looks sicccck

Bismuth is beautiful, I love those sparkling colored crystals. You put a lot of patience into this project, I can imagine how long it took to file and sand such thick material. Got no suggestions for you as I think the video was perfect from start to finish. I don't know if you are aware of it, but this is the best comic chemistry show in the world and it wouldn't be fun if everything went according to plan. it's like watching little pandas play (and, oh gods, don't let the "Nile Red Slicing The Tomato" scene come back to me tomorrow while I'm sitting in the dentist's chair) :,D

Marta

Playback was iffy, pausing every few seconds? Very possibly my tablet or internet connection... Thank you for the great content!

So surprised that you also know about Kiwami! When I watch his video, sometimes I think he is a more chaotic version of NileRed.

Kay Lam

Not gonna lie, I was angry at first: casting a solid block instead of using a mold that was shaped like a knife, making it waaaaay too thick. Not using electric tools that were fit for purpose (Band saw, belt grinder/belt sander or at least a angle grinder) and dipping it into a molten puddle that was way too shallow... But big respect for sticking to it and fileing, grinding polishing it to a shine. I cannot really argue with the end result... Could be better (thinner) could be much worse and it's pretty... So I call it a success, but you probably made it much harder for yourself than needed

TOM

Sigh, this is such a Thanksgiving treat. Thank you, Nile. 🥺 So much...

Alexander Kirk

Very nice smash 🔪

Joshua Pedrick

You, uh, you know that files only cut in one direction right? They’re miniature saw teeth, not sandpaper.

Max Goldstein

Nope, I actually have no idea who you're talking about

Nile Red

Have you seen that youtuber forging zirconium and niobium and stuff?

Michaela Pereckas

Ok... time to watch a few episodes of “Forged in Fire” 😂🤣✌️👍

André Forcier

This was hilarious.

Reid Wayne Cook

It was all given to us for free actually

Nile Red

We wanted to do it like Kiwami did

Nile Red

Yeah we definitely aren't equipped for this kind of stuff

Nile Red

WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST CAST THE KNIFE???

Chris Silvia

Looks like u guys had a great time! The slotted stone is for squaring your whetstone. Great vid!

You have no idea how painful this is to watch while I'm sitting 30 feet from a shop with bandsaws, scroll saws, bench grinders, and a belt grinder which would have made your project so much easier.

Did you get that bismuth from pink pepto bismol?
