Making Glow Sticks again - Green chem

This video is kind of a revisit of an old one, but I am making a slightly different diphenyl oxalate ester.

It is a much more viable alternative for home chemists and for small labs who cant get the precursors for TCPO or don't want to use phthalate based solvents.

Let me know what you think.

I havent had too many jobs. I was a short term lab tech and then grad student. Both of which only lasted for about 7 months.

Wow damn, just new here as a 5$ subscriber and I absolutely love your content!! May I ask you how your career went (and what kind of jobs you had)?

Perhaps I simply wasn't paying sufficient attention, but I was wondering what fluorophore you used to get the light blue glow.

Wow McGill is a great school. I'm a junior in high school and I also want to do biochemistry but you know the college process urch.

I went to Mcgill In Montreal, but I didnt study strict chemistry. I was actually in Biochemistry

Nile Red

Btw where did you study chemistry

Im not sure what you mean.

Nile Red

Just finished. It's really cool but I read somewhere about oxaloacetate with hydrogen peroxide. Where does that fit in here?

lol, you gotta watch it first to comment :p

Nile Red
