And, we're back!
Added 2025-01-06 15:52:51 +0000 UTCHello my beautiful people!
I hope you are doing great and had a fun time during the holidays.
Mine were miserable.
It started great, I had some fun playing "Baldur's gates", was ready to see the families, took a few hikes in the show. all fun stuff.
But while I was with my paternal family on the 24th, I started to feel sore throat. I didn't worry too much. Living alone, I tend to spend my days in silence ( it's worst since Covid) so when it continued on the 25th, I just thought that my vocal cord where a bit tired and everything would be cool once I was done with the gatherings.
I started to worry on the 26th when, despite a full day of rest, the soreness was getting worst. so I took my flash light and took a look in there. As soon as I saw the little white spots, I knew what it was, and that I was in for a rough time.
Pharyngitis is no fun. It's a throat infection that is both really painful and super contagious. I had a fit of it back around 2014, I had fevers and as some point, my throat got so swollen I could barely breath, and yet the doctor had simply sent me home for quarantine, armed with only a few cough drop. It lasted 3 weeks, and I had a hell of a time.
This time around turned out not to be as bad. I did get tested to be sure it wasn't a streptococcus, or any other bacteria, but it was viral, so again, nothing else to do than stay home and wait for it to pass. I knew that I would have difficulty swallowing anything, so... I took all the precautions not to infect anyone, I bought a bunch of lozenges for my throat, ginger roots, unpasteurized honey, ice cream ( for the moral), a tone protein milk cartons and locked myself in.
The good new is, I didn't have any fever or problem breathing this time around. But it was a long two weeks. I slept as much as possible ( to rest, but mostly so that it would pass faster). That said, resting isn't easy when you're waking up every hour because of the pain. I played a lot of Baldur's Gates ( I'm somewhere around the end of the second act, I think), watch a few episodes of UFO Robot Grendizer (Someday I'll finish that series, I swear to god :P ) and classic Doctor Who ( the first storyline of season 16 was quite a chore to get through) and since January 1rst, started getting into Wrestling. not such a bad time considering. And it would have been GREAT if not for the constant pain.
Every morning and night (despite the schedule being completely out of wack) I would evaluate my level of pain, and keep and eye on the progress. After a few days, the back of my throat was bright red, covered with pimples and white, square looking, packs. And my tongue looked like a cauliflower, going from grey to milky white, constantly prickling.
On the morning December 30th, I realized, that for the first time, the level of pain had regress a little. That told me that I had reached the peek of the infection. A quick time estimation told me that I would probably be back on my feet today ( which I am ) and my moral got better.
Thankfully, since my surgery, most of my nutritive needs are now fulfilled through the bunch of pills I need to take every morning, I really just need to think about proteins, so physically, I wasn't too much for the wear. Despite it all, I did lose a bunch of weight, and vertigo is back. But now that I can eat again, things should get back to normal soon.
I am not 100% healed yet. But the throat isn't hurting anymore and I can't see any pimples or white spot anymore, yet, I can sill feel the scar ( if that make any sense ) when I swallow. There's still a ... something... a spot that fell dryer and less flexible pretty much at the same place the soreness first started. And while my tongue is back to its normal colors, it is still slightly dis formed and prickly all over the place (It feels as if I was really thirsty or as if I had drank water that was way too hot). But my energy level are back and I feel ready to get back to work.
Because of all of this, I haven't done my usual preparations yet. I haven't drawn anything in two weeks ( I'm probably a bit rusty there), and I still have to sort my archives and all that, so this week might be a bit chaotic.
I'll start today by focusing of the research and preparation for this week's commission, and we'll see how it will go from there. By the end of the week, I plan to have at least produced the commission and sorted the archives. I'm hoping to have time left for a few new elements on the cartoon carwash.
That's it for now!
See you all soon.

2025-01-06 17:29:15 +0000 UTCFrom what I can see. Pretty much everything WWE does will be on Netflix for now on ( in Canada anyway). Tonight it's RAW and I already got noticed about NXT tomorrow night.

2025-01-06 17:15:26 +0000 UTCTSN carries the other big league All Elite Wrestling. But Raw on Netflix will help a lot. If you get NXT for free up there it is usually worth a watch as it is the WWE minor league (for ease of explaining). You will get caught up in no time. Plus the main season is starting up as Wrestlemania is a few months away.

2025-01-06 17:04:55 +0000 UTCWWE, for the moment ... I always liked the world of wrestling but didn't watched any events since when it was on public tv back when I was 10 years old. I wouldn't be ready to pay for their streaming channel just yet (and it's not super easy to do from Canada apparently. You need VPN and often a fake US address to get access) but WWE is on Netflix now ( with their first live event tonight ) so it's a great entry point for me. I'm a bit behind in term of storylines and stuff, but I've been doing my homework this week to get up to date. and if I like it, than I'm open to check out more leagues.
