( not so ) Quick Update

Hey guys!

so… on the last update, I wrote that I didn’t think you guys really noticed when I disappear a day or two… but someone did, hence this quick update.

1- Since I posted the last weekly update on Friday instead of the usual Sunday, it might feel like a long hiatus, but it’s was really just Monday. It’s been REALLY hot and humid in my part of the world lately and sleeping in these condition has been next to impossible. I have AC but it can’t cover the whole apartment, and my room is the farthest from it. After 3 days on basically no sleep, I finally moved in my living room ( where the AC is ) on Sunday night and I finally got two good nights of sleep: even if my cough is only a 2 sitter, it’s better than my bed at the moment :P

2- I’m not off work. I worked on a commission yesterday; I got the approval for the line work this morning,  so, you guys should get a pic later tonight or tomorrow. These things take time, some more than others

Finally, on an unrelated note, and I did hesitate before adressing the subject: someone wrote on my HF post of the latest Hermione vs Luna pic that  my explanation as to why I decided to keep on with the Hogwarts porn despite my leftist views sounded like what a transphobe would say. I deleted the comment, because I don’t have to keep insults on my page, that said, I will answer it here:

I struggled a long time about this. I try to always be the best ally I can. When I first brushed the subject on the last pic, I was all ready to tell you guys that that pic would have been the last pic in this universe and that the only reason I drew it was that it had been comissioned before JKR released her essay. That I owed this to my trans friends. 

But while I was writing it, it started to feel hollow. And I changed my stance on that at the last minute.

Why…

Well, as I said earlier, I loved playing with this universe too much to entirely let it go. There are GREAT creators that I follow that decided to cut of everything HP related from their production ( Dom Noble, Jessy Gender,  Council of geeks, to name a few ). And I truly admire that, but I couldn’t do it… Selfish, I know... No one is perfect.

Again, I strongly disagree with JKR’s views on trans peoples. Trans people are people and their gender is their own affair. They should be able to get in whatever bathroom they feel safer in; they should be respected in their lives and in the public eyes. A trans woman is a woman, a trans man is a man, and yes, gender is fluid. Those are my views, resumed in a pretty simplistic ways.

I’ve been struggling with issues like this for years now: How much of my work is part of the rape culture. How futa is really just fetishing trans people. And now, should I continue playing in a universe created by a terf.

So far my explanation as always been the same: Those are my kinks, and my work is a safe outlet for me and for others to deal with thems. But I'm not sure it really work with this particular issue…

Because of her essay, I had already wowed to cut ties with JKR: not to buy anything remotely related to JKR anymore ( even that first book I lost on my last move and I had planned to buy as soon as I could), Not to frequent any of her websites, nor to promote her stuff… but I will continue to draw Hermione naked. I could vow not to all you want... but I know I eventually will get back to it. I doubt very much that porn can count as promotion of her work. You can call me a hypocrite for that, that would be fair, but not a transphobe.
