Short films are difficult because you don't get long to set up the world let alone build a relationship with characters. As you can see in this one, it's all about world building. As a cold caller, this is exactly what I needed but how did they win me over... Let's find out.

The world of Half-Life is wild… You're not the only one who has trouble understanding the Combine's speech. Their masks were designed to sound inhuman to outsiders, while being perfectly clear to themselves. Also if you pay attention, the civil protection units (the normal soldiers that got wiped out with the explosion) that are still normal humans, comunicate in a more human way, but the spikewall (big dude) is way more inhumane in his comms and even harder to hear than the others. That's because even though the spikewall was once a person, they wiped out all his memories and transformed him into a mindless killing machine. The lore is deep...
