I'm a bit interested in the history of feudal Japan, and this film provides insight into the relationships between the ruling samurai caste with the peasants, merchants, and generally the ronin and their precarious circumstances as unemployed warriors. I saw this film as a teenager and it left a lasting impression on me, both in terms of film technique and in terms of understanding Japanese culture, which extends to the present day.

2025-06-13 22:36:23 +0000 UTCTo me RDR2 is still the best looking video game of all time. It easily has the mostly realistic world, graphics, lively characters, towns, quests etc. In terms of fantasy world it would be Witcher 3.

2025-06-13 18:36:08 +0000 UTCI’m sure there’s other video of games being played widescreen but like Ghost of Tsushima, they’re almost certainly just not made to be experienced in that format. That’s why sometimes you comment on weird shots or why the camera is so close in a few areas. Yea, I suppose the black bats do make it cooler but noticing weird close shots due to the bars was bound to happen. The cool thing is that GoT’s HUD and UI is VERY minimalistic so you’re not missing much at the bottom of the screen.
