Continuing the journey of Mr Marston, I was not expecting things to go down the way they did. I had an utter blast with this game and it's thanks to you amazing people that I even got to see it.
I guess it's time we head back to the past... Red Dead Redemption 2 past.

I loved it as well. But I can understand why some fans of the first game were put off by the more ‘sim’ elements. All that said, regardless of how you found the gameplay, I think these are arguably the best written characters in gaming. The depth of character in the protagonist AND the repulsiveness of the primary antagonist had me so hooked.

2025-01-15 14:03:58 +0000 UTCYou did a great job with this. Rdr2 will be great. Only thing Id say is ideally you want to find a playthrough where you get some of the gameplay, as much of the story takes place there. Kind of like the TLOU2 playthrough you’re using.

2025-01-11 02:53:36 +0000 UTCJack at the end sounding like a boy putting on a deep voice is intentional I believe. It fits. He's a young kid basically dressing up as his daddy. If you pay attention, he even speaks in the same cadence and with the same mannerisms as John, and I don't think that simply rubbed off on him, I think he sees it as how a Hero speaks. After the ending you are let back into the free roam, as Jack. So you go out, and do exactly the kinds of things that his dad did. But without proper story missions since this was the ending lol.

Funny enough, this game has a full campaign DLC called "Undead Nightmare" where you play as John looking for a cure for his family who have become zombies. Same map, many returning characters, but its a "start of the apocalypse" type zombie thing, so not a full blown everybody is dead type thing. Which lets Rockstar continue making interesting character stories in it. Its not as serious as the main game, but still serious sometimes. Its actually quite fantastic, not canon though. I'd recommend checking that out at some point.
