This is what I've been doing today. I want my image to pop when it comes to colour aka saturation. Issue is, it makes the talent's face look like a cherry tomato, this example isn't as bad as it could have been but you get the idea.
Masking around the talent's face, I colour pick his skin tones and then adjust the mask so it's nice and clean. Then looking at a vectorscope, I get the skin tones to match what looks normal within the scene he or she or they are in. Here is a before and after with an image of the floating head mask. I could have got rid of the tie but left the top in so the red fades away nicely.
Next time you watch a Documentary on Netflix, nothing is exactly how it's filmed on the day.

P.S > I would have loved a bit of haze in this shot to show god rays coming through the window, it would have soften the image and made it look more expensive. This location, we were not allowed to use any haze/smoke due to fire alarms. If only I worked in animation be it game or movies... (shakes fist in air).
