Animation WIPs & Important Patreon News

Hi all,

Here's a little preview video of some of the Season 1 animation underway. Some of you have seen some of this already, but Fable edited together a compilation recently to share with YouTube Channel Members, so I decided I'd share it with Patrons too.

We've just opened up YouTube Channel Memberships. YouTube Members will get some exclusive behind the scenes previews and private livestreams just like Patrons get. (The Patron streams will remain separate from the Youtube Member streams.)

 I am not telling you about this because I expect anyone to subscribe to both. There is a reason we've decided to open YouTube Memberships that you should know about as Patreon users, though.

1.)  Starting in November, Apple will be charging its 30% App Store fee to new pledges made through the Patreon iOS app. That 30% is either collected through a charge to new Patrons, or it's taken from what the Creator earns, depending on which way the Creator decides to levy the burden. It's important to emphasize that if you're an existing Patron, this won't affect your pledges! You won't incur new fees. You don't have to do anything or change anything about what you're doing.

If you're planning to support other Creators or make other new pledges, though, you might want to switch to an account managed via desktop browser or mobile browser to bypass the iOS app fees.

2.)   Apple is also forcing all Patreon Creators to switch to the subscription model of billing in order to remain compatible with the iOS method of charging. Since its inception, this Patreon account has done first-of-the-month billing. The switch will mean charges will instead happen each month on the date of your initial pledge. If you pledged on the 10th of the month, the next month's charge will also happen on the 10th.

So, if you see a change in the date on which you are billed on come November, don't panic. Charges will still only happen once a month. 

It's just the effects of us all getting shoved around and pinched by a megacorporation. You know, just another Tuesday.

Anyway, this Patreon will continue updating several times each month as usual. I have no plans to stop or pull back - if anything, I'd like to share more things more often.
