Rocky, Ivy and Things

I wanted to share Rocky and Ivy's character sheets, and thought I might as well include some other progress as well!

The other images:

- Layouts by Frog/the design team. This is preliminary background art. Another artist will later be tasked with painting over these to bring them in line with the overall style of the film, but these visualizations are important in the meantime, in part because it gives animators something solid to work with.

- A sample of how storyboards (samples here by Kelly Turnbull) inform the layouts. We know the camera needs to pan across a scene because of the boards, and so the background must be painted to accommodate that specific camera motion.

- Further reference model progress by Newt. The car models are equipped with things like working doors, open-able hoods and suspension rigs so that the animators can make full use of them. As for the excavator shovel - I guess you can't have a quarry scene without...quarry things.

- We had to perform some restoration work on Atlas' old portrait.
