Editing is where most of the work happens. You have to go through multiple cuts, then you build the soundscape, colour correct and grade. Multiple versions if you're working on socials. Filming is the fun part but it's the most exhausting. You're brain is dead by the end of the day. You're editing as you're going along as well as thinking about what else one can do to make that shot look beautiful. Not to mention there's the next shot and deadline of the day. It is fun though. All main dutch angles and things like that have to be done in production. You can make a dutch angle in post but you'll have to zoom the shot in a lot losing the framing for example.

There are those that can bring a higher level to your work as it how it appears. That I could show. Thinking about it, the onl bad movement would be that it's so bad or harsh that you can't see what's going on within the frame. Then again, this might be a desired effect. Hopefully that answered your question a little. Kai

I guess my follow up would be: Should the catch light always be on the eye towards where the setting's light source(ie the sun) is or are there cases where you keep the catch light on certain parts of the eye because it looks better in the shot?

2024-04-02 21:57:55 +0000 UTCYou can use anything to be honest, a mobile phone light for example. The best device I use is a small light called a pavotube (nanlite). What you have to remember is this will cause light to spill on your subject. If you're wanting to catch a nice round ball then use a large light source that is heavily diffused. (layers of white sheet/s over the light) This will make your subjects lighting soft and give you a nice ball of light in their eyes. If anything is unclear, please ask me.
