The second illustration of June is complete!
Clayton heard a rustling in the trees all around him and it let him know that he was on the right track. He'd been searching for gorillas since they came to this part of the jungle, but had no luck in locating the primates. And the Porter's hadn't been any help. In fact, he had to wait for the father and daughter duo to get caught up in some inane anthropology discussion so that he could sneak away and go ape hunting on his own.
The hunter made his way towards where the noises were coming from. He decided not to get his gun ready to fire and instead left it hanging in it holster which was currently strapped to his back. He didn't want to harm any of the great apes. He just wanted to be led to their central nest...where he would then capture them alive and sell them to the highest bidder. There was no sense in scaring away a possible guide to his goal by being trigger-happy.
Suddenly, the rustling in the trees became louder and it was apparent he was being surrounded. He tried to keep his senses trained on where he thought his quarry was heading...when a hairy grey blur zoomed past him and swiped the map he had been carrying right out of his hands and just as quickly disappeared back into the trees.
Clayton spun around to try and catch the speedy thief...when the exact same thing happened with another hairy blur and the pencil he had been holding in his other hand.
"Now wait just a blasted minute!" The hunter exclaimed...just as another blur zoomed by and grabbed a hold of his pants and with a mighty tug...
YOINK
Clayton found himself exposing his naked nether regions to the whole jungle.
"You damn dirty apes! Ack!" Clayton yelled as he tried to get his footing but instead tripped himself up on his fallen pants and fell to the ground, his exposed butt protruding out in a most undignified way.
Clayton could hear the apes in the trees. If he didn't know any better he could almost swear that they were laughing at him.
He gave a hateful growl more animalistic than any of the primates in the jungle and grabbed the gun from his back. Pointing it toward the sky he pulled the trigger and the resulting noise made the entire jungle go quite. The apes in the trees seemed to have sensed the innate danger from the object the hunter wielded and retreated.
Pulling his pants back up, Clayton sneered towards where he assumed the apes had ran off to. "That's right you dumb animals. Run away. I'll find you all soon enough and then we'll see how you enjoy being shipped off to some of Europe's finest zoos." The hunter grinned at the thought of all the money he would make from this little venture and made his way back to the campsite.
