Development Update Preview #2 [Final, Final]

Hey Everyone!


So about a month ago I shared a little early teaser post about a new game I had in the works with my VIP Supporters. At the time, I was planning on keeping the game small and simple by just having 1 fun replayable game mode. But, I have to take back what I said earlier about this being a "small" and simple game.

In my prior Development Update Preview #1 post, I mentioned that the game itself was "completely done." And to be fair, that part is still true, at least in regards to the game mode I originally showcased at the time which I am now calling "Standard Mode." However, this past month I ended up making a completely new game mode. So for this post I'd like to showcase "Standard Mode" again for those not familiar with it, the new achievement system I implemented, as well as the new game mode I made, "Survival Mode."


Standard Mode (Updated)

In Standard Mode the main goal is to increase your stats as much as possible within 7 days. This is the original game mode I made and was going to release the game with just this game mode. With 5 different endings, 20 humiliation animations, 47 spanking animations as well as 4 different Playthrough Rewards to unlock, this game mode was already a lot of fun (according to me) and had a ton of replayability baked-in. Not counting my "test" playthroughs, I myself already racked up about 79 playthroughs in Standard Mode and the Japanese translator I hired for localization got addicted to the game and did over 30+ playthroughs already. (They don't even like "spanking games" to begin with haha.)

That said, by the 80th playthrough I was starting to get this feeling that "something" was missing from the game... So I did what any sane game developer would do and started adding more assets, more animations, restyled all the UI elements, and even implemented an Achievement System hoping that this was the answer.


It wasn't. But I'm still glad I did it since the game is a lot cooler now. (According to me.)

But one day, I was staring at the "Standard Mode" summary screen (shown above) which will only go up to 7 days. And it was at this moment that an interesting thought came to mind...


"What if the summary screen didn't stop at Day 7 but instead went on, Forever?"

And to answer that question, I spent the next 3 weeks building a completely new game mode with a fresh set of mechanics!

Survival Mode

In Survival Mode, there is no end (theoretically.) The main theme of Survival Mode are Cursed Traits that affect the main heroine Reina. It is an endless game mode where the main point of the game is to "survive" as long as possible. In this game mode, the goal isn't to just simply raise your stats as high as possible in X amount of days. No, in this game mode you must make sure that none of your stats ever reach 0 or the curse will take over Reina, a.k.a Game Over.


To put it another way, Standard Mode is the cheery happy:

"You can do it Reina! Just one more good Math lesson and we are all set! Just don't be naughty now or you'll get a spanking!"


Survival Mode on the other hand:

"Reina, all we have left is Cup Ramen and you're Cursed! From this point forward I'll have to spank you every single day until help arrives..."

Daily Lessons are a lifeline, meals act as a precious resource to suppress and weaken curses, and spankings are the primary method used to temporarily remove a "cursed trait" from Reina. Cursed traits drain her stats every day and get stronger over time so all you can do is try to prevent the inevitable for as long as possible, and hope that help arrives...


I could probably ramble on forever about all the cool new features and formulas I put together to make Survival Mode and it's gameplay mechanics a lot of fun. But I'll save you the wall of text and instead share with you the results I got when I fed all the game mechanics to AI and had it run 50,000 simulations of Survival Mode:


I'm definitely looking forward to hearing how far most of you get in survival mode. 😈

Release Date:

With the game itself now actually "done, done." (I promise this time.) The only thing I have left to work on is adding in translations and getting all the character dialogue voiced by a VA since I want this game to be fully voiced.


On the VA side, I'm currently in talks with a really skilled voice actress who, in my opinion, is one of the best in the S&M genre where "spanking" does generally categorize under. And she has collaborated with well over 130+ Games & ASMR-related content on DLSite all of which seem to always have high ratings because of her cult following and talent. So I think that goes to show how popular and experienced she is in the genre. If she accepts the proposal, she will be the most expensive VA I've ever hired haha. But thanks to all of you, (both new and seasoned supporters) I am finally able to afford and can reach out to the next "tier" of VA talent. Which is why my fingers are crossed that she accepts!


I should hear back from her soon and hopefully recording can start shortly after since I'm basically ready to ship this game out to all of you. When I finally get an expected delivery date from her, or another backup VA on the voice recordings, I'll be able to announce an official release date. Hopefully soon!

Wow looking forward to this game! Love the humiliation additions and the spanking animations. Reina is a great designed character thick and super cute. Maybe makes an appearance in Day 5. Thank you for the fantastic work!

Honestly, I totally get that. And I appreciate your honest feedback on the wait. Waiting sucks, especially when I myself am dependent on another party before things can be officially announced. The English --> Japanese translations for the heroine's dialogue alone took about 2 weeks before I was able to even submit the proposal. I was so used to the typical 2-3 day translation period that I tend to get for one-off animations for example. But more dialogue = more time which I definitely overlooked a month ago. So during the waiting period, I just decided to work on the game some more haha. But hopefully it will all be worth the wait!

Being able to make a new game from scratch allowed me to experiment with a bunch of new cool mechanics, something I can't really do in [Kana Sensei] due to how massive that game has gotten and the complexity of ensuring that "new code" doesn't interfere with "old code." Which is partially why I'm semi-forced to keep the same pacing, styling, and mechanics in that game for each day. But with this game? That barrier is non-existent, so I have free reign to add all the cool features and ideas I've always wanted to see in a game. So I'm super glad to hear that your excited for it as much as I am!
