Dealing with infection/complications ❤️
Added 2019-06-07 02:48:49 +0000 UTCThis post is to help out anyone who is going thru a tough time, please pass it on to anybody who you think might need help xx
Firstly, I want to say complications with xl boobs are common, in fact I know more girls who have complications and problems, than don’t, but you don’t hear about it because many are worried about the effect it might have on their income or how people might view them 😞
One person extremely recently said they had massively upgraded their boobs when in actual fact they had an infection and had to explant, another is saying they are going bigger but not telling the guys who are encouraging her that her infection was so bad not only did she have to explant she lost a nipple..
It’s pretty depressing to think about it but also a little dangerous because it gives a skewed viewpoint.. It also makes it hard for the people who are going thru complications to deal with the problems that arise so this post will hopefully clarify a few things and if it even helps just one girl it will be worth it ❤️
The first thing you might notice if you have infection is a spot or redness (this is what happened in my case).. You must NOT ignore it.. Go to the doctor as soon as you can.. DO NOT WAIT.. The longer you wait the worse it is going to get.. Do not try and put it to the back of your mind, do not kid yourself that it will fix itself.. It won’t.. The longer you wait the more chance there is you may lose your implants altogether..
You MUST take the meds the doctor puts you on.. At the beginning my doctor put me on Co-Amoxiclav (Penicillin).. Normally, a person is on that for 2 weeks max, I was on them for a good month.. In my case my infection did not get any worse, but it was still only a short-term solution..
I saw two different doctors in Essex, one who was a family friend and had known me a long time, she had actually helped me in the beginning stages of this journey, and another who I only met after the infection.. The doctor who already knew me was keen to help as much as she could..
The other however, just wanted to explant straight away.. I felt he judged me on the size of my boobs and I found him quite condescending..
Always get a second opinion if you can.. Different doctors have different opinions, they are human after all.. Work with someone who understands you and who you feel is on your wavelength.. An infection or complication is a tough enough thing to go thru without feeling that the person who is supposed to be helping you doesn’t care..
Do NOT use a jacuzzi (this is a mistake I made).. Do NOT use a sunbed or do anything that might compromise your skin.. Do NOT use creams containing steroids.. Simply put do NOT put your skin any under extra pressure as it is already weak and you need to let it heal, give it the best chance possible..
I took a fair amount of vitamins.. When I was at the worst points of my infection I would be tired by mid afternoon, I would be in pain, and the vitamins gave me a little boost.. They are NOT a replacement for medicine obviously but they helped with my fatigue and to recover more quickly.. The ones I take even now are Biotin (for skin, hair and nails), Zinc, Iron, Vitamin C and Collagen tablets (this was recommended to me by a friend who works in science, post infection it helped with healing)..
If you have surgery you may well need to come off certain meds and/or vitamins so always tell your doctor what you are on and if told take a break..
In terms of treatment I was put on the antibiotics again later and those can be taken orally or by IV.. I also had oxygen therapy.. This was all pretty intense..
Finally, and this is the step many girls miss, because they don’t want surgery because of the cost or the risk of losing their implants, is taking out the shells and cleaning the pockets..
If you don’t clean the pockets there will always be a risk of residual bacteria and much worse later on.. By dealing with the problem sooner you are at less risk of things getting much more serious later.. I would have felt like a ticking time bomb if I hadn’t done this but I know a lot of girls who choose not to have surgery and then have worse problems later..
*IF* there is no alternative but to explant tell yourself okay 3 months or 6 months of this v a lifetime.. You CAN live without boobs short-term, of course you can, hopefully it will be short-term pain for long-term gain ❤️
Do not think I can’t do this, I can’t live without boobs even for a few weeks, or months, because you can..
I didn’t explant but post-op my boobs were a mess, they looked like roadkill lol.. I honestly just did not look much after the first week or two, but you know what it doesn’t matter.. Why look at something that won’t benefit me but just make me feel bad 🤷♀️
I knew deep down as time went on they would be fine and they are.. I still have some scarring but it’s 90% gone.. I did have laser treatment in the early stages.. Am hoping by the summer they will be completely gone and am using a fading ointment now.. I’m not using anything super strong as I don’t want to compromise my skin, it simply isn’t worth the risk..
I may come back to this post and edit it in case I‘ve missed or forgotten something but I wanted to share what helped me and encourage anyone in a similar situation to try and stay positive..
As I said, there isn’t much info out there for girls who need help so if you do just drop me a line.. I’m proof that no matter how bad things get you can come out the other side ❤️❤️
