Here is an idea have harry be reborn as a stark or a descendant of the house that had the moat or have death make an original house of his choosing that is in their records as owning the moat and have harry take over as its lord and make this world an AU where magic did not truly die but most knowledge of magic is gone with the exception of basic elemental spells like the cantrips from dnd and a few proper spells like fireball which are jealously guarded by those who possess them . And make it so only the nobility in westeros knows magic with the exception of the measters being the only ones who know healing magic and each member of the order has to swear a magical oath not to share that info. Make it so in this AU the north and dorne practice polygamy and have harry be born the same year as benjen stark but he has all the knowledge of his home world both on the magical and muggle side including the knowledge of the goblins so he can make goblin silver and make rune weapons and armor for his forces including magical fire arms for example a rune rifle is modeled after something like the martini henry rifle or the brown bess and uses runes to function to ensure it cant be reversed engineered have a rune ro create a small explosive rune for the proppelent, then a cooling rune to help keep the gun cool, then a rune to spin the projectile to give the same effect as rifling without having to actually use rifleing which would make it faster and cheaper to build and improves range and accuracy, then a conjuration rune to conjure the projectile once you pull the trigger and i know conjurations in the HP magic system only last a few hours without runes to sustain them but you only need a bullet to last a short while to work and this makes it so you never have to reload or worry about ammo and since ammo is not an issue nor is recoil with the next rune make the rifles 50. bmg and the pistols 50. A.E or 44 magnum and shotguns 10 or 8 guage,then have a rune to nullify most of the recoil, then have runes for security that use intent based magic to prevent those who are not loyal to his house from useing them and make it so if you try to pick one up and shoot one of harrys people or his allies it will not only fail to fire it will shock the shit out of you like a high powered taser but the weapon will get really hot until you let it go like the heat weapon spell in dnd, then add a rune that either tracks the item or teleports itself back to a secure location with the thief getting dropped buck ass naked in a nearby holding cell with their stuff in a secure room, then for pistols model them after the napoleonic single shot pistols and shotguns and cannons would have runes to change the ammo type for example shotguns allow you to change between buckshot, armor piercing slugs or shoot a stunner spell for non lethal which is something all the guns should have, then for cannons have field gun howitzer hybrids that have cannonballs,cannister,cassshot,airburst,chain shot,high explosive,incendiary, smoke, tear gas and AP slugs, then mortars will have smoke,gas,incendiary,high ,explosive and airbust. You could also use elemental rounds like a round that cuases a lightning ball that explodes on impact or an ice round that flash freezes everything in the blast radius, you could have lightning guns and cannons or use lightning runes as the proppelent to make rail or coil guns, or arcane crystals that sit atop towers or ship masts that shoot lightning or scorching rays which would be a way to kill dragons, you could also make mana shields for cities and ships. Pretty much it would be hadrian stark or original house such as peveral or slytherin as hadrians house if you go slytherin you could have the pheonix and basalisk as his house creatures with him having both as magical companinions maybe make the slythering able to change size and claim it as a sea dragon with its full size being something like 300 to 400 ft long but it can shrink down to lets say 3 or 4 ft long and the pheonix could also increase its size to be as large as some dragons but not as big as lets say vhagar or balerion but the pheonix has much hotter flames for a fire pheonix and have other elements like an ice or lightning pheonix or since you said you wanted to focus more on dragons you could have ice dragons or storm dragons but make them proper dragons with 4 legs making them much more dangerous in melee and on the ground. And the reason i chose the moat is with harrys magic he could easily restore it and improve it and he could dig a canal at the northern end of the neck and make his own panama canal which would make him filthy rich from the tarrifs alone and harry would pretty much be building up his territory into the wealthiest and most powerful in the land but make it so this is pretty much his retirerment and he has no desire to rule the whole kingdom just his own plot of land but he intends to make it the best he can and he will be going magical steampunk with a cross of medieval/ napoleonic/ww1 with semi auto rune guns,rune cannons,rune flame throwers, rune grenade launchers and machine guns and rune armor and late age of sail hybrid steam sail ironclad ships think of it being similar to warhammer fantasy empire/kislev/grand cathay but more magic and steampunk. Since its his retirerment harry just wants to rebuild his house, have a harem ,have lots of sex making a bunch of babies amd study magic and engineering but he will enevitably be drawn into roberts rebellion against the mad king and he will have magical creatures like dragons,pheonixs, gryphons, hippogryphs,krakens pretty much harry comes with his own magical zoo in a suitcase like newt scamander, this along with the fact that harry has parseltongue which allows him to talk to dragons since they are considered a type of serpant and his vast magical knowledge which eclipses everyone elses along with bloodlines being very important with the nobility in order to not only sustain but improve their magical bloodlines harry will be bombarded with marriage alliances and the targaryans will want to see if they can get one of his dragons or if he can hatch one of their remaining eggs i would make it so targaryans can only bond with valyrian dragons so his wont work unless he uses a ritual to bind some to their bloodline but harry will never tell anyone about that. Though i could see hadrian hatch a couple of dragon and ensure they bond to rheanys and rhealla but they would be far to young to take part in the rebellion and so harry would rescue rhealla the unborn deanarys and elia with her children and use the blood adoption ritual on the kids to replace their fathers bloodline and illusion magic in the form of runic tattoos for elia and rhealla to hide themselves and become two of his wives along with potentially lyanna if he is not a stark.This way the world has more magic you could make it so other houses do have some bonded animals like house mormont can bond with snow bears and they use them as calvary like the kislivite bear calvary in warhammer fantasy, house connington has or had gryphons depending on your choice, house greyjoy had krakens, house velaryon had kelpis and so on. For wives i would say rhealla,lyanna and elia after roberts rebellion along with genna lannister,ashara dayne,dacey mormont, mors umbers daughter berana i think was her name who was kidnapped and taken beyond the wall harry could track her down with his magic and bring her back, an older margery tyrell who was born earlier, an older arian martell who was born sooner, val but make her a descendent of a stark who went beyond the wall, an oc baratheon being hilda baratheon twin sister of robert their are plenty of options. Oh and give harry dobby and a bunch of house elves he could pass them off for what they are a magical race meant to serve wizards but change the story and have him say his ancestors made them back in the age of heroes. And make the valyrians the only ones to have magic other than basic elemental magic with them having discovered an ancient stash of magical tomes from the dawn empire from the age of heroes but the tomes were damaged and they only managed to get enough knowledge to figure out basic enchanting which led to valyrian steel and some basic ritual magic which led to them being able to bind the valyrian dragons to themselves.

It was only the sun’s rise and fall that told him they were heading south, but even then they had to stop and ask for directions when their men happened across a random town. What happened to the point me spell couldnt he have gone to take a leak and used it to get a general direction?
