The Greengrasses Chapter 1
Added 2025-12-24 20:51:05 +0000 UTCTo the Members of House Greengrass,
We write to inform you of an outstanding marriage contract between the Most Ancient and Noble House of Greengrass and the Most Ancient and Noble House of Potter. Due to the current status of the marriage contract being unfulfilled, a clause has been activated in the contract that has warranted the need for this letter.
As per the unfulfilled status of the contract, all unmarried members of House Greengrass are now betrothed to all unnmarried members of House Potter immediately. Attached to this letter is a copy of the contract binding House Potter and House Greengrass by Life and Magic.
May your Gold Flow,
Gringotts Magical Contract Department

Aspasia Greengrass stared at the letter in her shaky hands with wide, disbelieving eyes. The letter had been sealed with the Gringotts goblin seal, meaning it was an official letter that one should never ignore. She also knew that as the Head of House Greengrass, she would be the only person in her family receiving such a letter.
How is this even possible? While marriage contracts could last decades, maybe centuries, between old families before finally being fulfilled by a descendant, to have them become outstanding was near unthinkable. It meant that the contract had been written exactly a thousand and one days ago, and in that time no member of House Greengrass and House Potter had wed.
And while Marriage contracts were common in the magical world, for them to last long enough to get to this point was almost unheard of. This meant that herself and her two girls would all three be marrying into House Potter, meaning she would be marrying—
She dropped the letter, a hand going to her mouth to stifle her gasp.
A cold shiver ran up her spine. Harry Potter was the only member of House Potter left, meaning that he was the only eligible candidate to marry into the Greengrass family. She hastily picked up the letter, flipping to the attached copy of the original marriage contract.
Half the damn thing was nearly unreadable, being written in old English exactly a thousand years and one day ago as of today. She cursed her bloody ancestors that none of them had ever found the contract and gone to fulfill it. How was it that two Houses go a thousand years without any of their members somehow marrying each other?!
Aspasia Greengrass sighed loudly before marching into her bedroom and dressing up for a trip to the Ministry. She put on heeled boots with matching black pants under a long white dragonhide coat. Her green eyes stared back at herself in the mirror as she quickly did her makeup and combed her straight-blonde hair that reached her mid-back before she headed to floo to the ministry.

“Potter… Potter… Potter… Harry Potter!” Muttered Aspasia Greengrass as she flipped through a filing cabinet within the ministry archives and pulled out a file titled “Harry Potter”.
The beautiful blonde Greengrass Head looked somewhat out of place deep within the dingy Ministry Archives as she sorted through stacks of dusty paperwork in a maze of shelves. Although it didn’t seem so, this was the quickest way for her to find information on House Potter, as the Ministry had detailed paperwork on each member of the Great Houses. That said, the public was restricted from visiting the archives without express permission, but as a member of the Wizengamot, Aspasia had more privileges than most.
And seeing as herself and her two girls would soon be unexpectedly marrying into House Potter, she had opted to abuse those privileges in search of information.
Opening the only record on House Potter, containing information on its sole surviving member, she began to read.
Harry James Potter
Birth: 31 July 1980
Father: James Potter
Mother: Lily Potter née Evans
Marital Status: Betrothed
Blood Status: Half-Blood
Address: [REDACTED]
Muggle Guardian: [REDACTED]
Magical Guardian: Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore
“Well that confirms it.” Thought Aspasia out loud as she looked at the marital status of betrothed on his file. Strangely, his address was redacted, and why would Harry Potter of all people have a muggle guardian?
She felt suspicion creep into the back of her mind, as she closed the file and took it with her to the Office for Family Affairs. She would need to see Harry Potter’s full file, and from there get the situation with his guardianship sorted.
A quick journey back through the archives and a short elevator ride up as she then made her way to a open desk where an attendant sat.
“Can I help you, miss?” Asked the attendant, a young woman who was a low-level ministry worker.
“You can.” Said Aspasia. “I need information on this person. He is currently locked in a betrothal contract with my House.”
She gave the file to the attendant, whose eyes widened upon seeing the name on the file.
“I-I see.” Spoke the attendant before she confirmed Aspasia’s identity and acquired the requested information for her.
Since their Houses were locked in a betrothal, it meant that she was one of the few people who could see his entire file—even the redacted portions.
Lady Greengrass frowned as she soon looked over Harry Potter’s full file. He lived under a woman named Petunia Dursley née Evans, clearly being his muggle mother’s relative. And while she had noticed it before, even more strange was the position of his magical guardian being Albus Dumbledore, which set off alarm bells in her mind. The Hogwarts Headmaster was clearly involved in Potter’s live heavily, that much was obvious, and yet neither Potter nor his muggle relatives were even related to the man through blood.
She had a poor view of Dumbledore, warning her daughters about him before they left for Hogwarts. He was a manipulative codger who hid behind the guise of being an old senile man while simultaneously holding three high-profile positions in the magical world. He controlled his allies like pieces on a chess board, rarely going out of his way to do the actual hard work for himself.
She pushed the thoughts of the Headmaster out of her mind as she focused at the problem at hand. Clearly Harry Potter was being controlled by the man, and had been apparently living like a muggleborn would live, unbefitting of someone holding his status. She imagined the infamous boy-who-lived getting his Hogwarts letter for the first time, finding out he isn’t only a wizard, but supposedly a famous and powerful one at that.
Aspasia gritted her teeth and took a deep calming breath, knowing what she had to do. “I would like to change Mr. Potter’s guardianship.”
“U-Um okay.” Said the same attendant, who obviously didn’t expect to be suddenly dealing with a case this high-profile. It wasn’t often some blonde bombshell walked up to her desk and demanded guardianship of the boy-who-lived to be taken out from under the robes of Albus Dumbledore himself.
She nonetheless complied, and quickly acquired a guardianship transfer sheet and filled it out before handing it to the irate Greengrass Matriarch with a blood quill to sign. “It just requires your signature and a signature of either one of his guardians.”
“Either of them?” Aspasia raised a brow. “So his muggle guardian should suffice?”
The attendant nodded, and Aspasia smirked. However, before she could leave, she raised one eyebrow menacingly, giving the woman a look she reserved for only her most fierce political opponents. “I trust this shall remain confidential?”
“Y-Yes ma’am!” Squeaked the attendant in fright.
“Good.” Said Lady Greengrass before leaving, making her way to the Ministry’s atrium before apparating to Privet Drive, the street Potter supposedly lived on.
Number four Privet Drive. She found the home of the boy-who-lived, an ugly muggle home, and straightened out her attire before marching up and knocking on the door. It was a distasteful place from her view, a crowded muggle neighborhood with little open space. Clearly unfit for the likes of the boy-who-lived, nor any witch or wizard. She couldn’t help but sniff in distaste, muggles bred like rats and lived like them too.
A slim and ugly woman opened the door, wearing cheap clothing and jewelry with an ugly sneer on her face as she looked up at Aspasia. She was obviously intimidated by the prettier woman who could easy be a muggle supermodel if she so desired.
“Can I help you?” Frowned the woman, who Aspasia figured was Harry’s muggle guardian.
“Petunia Dursley?” Asked Aspasia, receiving a nod and continuing. “Aspasia Greengrass, I’m here over a matter pertaining to Harry Potter—”
“What did that freak do now?” Petunia spat with vehemence, making Aspasia step backwards in the direction of the road. Her eyes widened in shock before narrowing in outrage.
“Harry Potter, I’m here in order to take custody over him.” Said Aspasia cooly, her wand having found its way to her hand from its holster. Muggles weren’t something she dealt with often, and she didn’t want to be taken off guard.
It seemed Petunia noticed, for she looked like a wild animal as she started yelling. “Out! OUT! I don’t want any freaks like you around my home ever again!”
“How dare you.” Growled Aspasia, having never been treated so disrespectfully in her entire life. And by a muggle of all creatures. “You filthy muggle, how did you of all people be the one to raise Harry Potter?”
“That freak ran away! And if he knows what’s good for him, then he better not come back here after what he did to my sister-in-law!” Petunia Dursley continued her rabid advance, as they entered the road that ran through the muggle suburb.
“I’m here to take custody of him, I just need you to sign-”
“Like I’ll sign anything you freaks have! Now get away from my house!”
Lady Greengrass growled in fury. There wasn’t going to be any more negotiating with this vile wretch of a woman, that much was obvious. However, she needed those papers signed, and she would rather not take her chances with the Headmaster. In fact, her entire plan was to do this outside of Dumbledore’s notice, hoping he would be unable interfere once he found it.
Her hand clutched her wand tightly, desperation creeping in as she realized what she would have to do. She pointed her pale wand at the woman, making her expression slacken in horror. That was when she channeled her will to dominate and control the filthy muggle in front of her. A simple thing really.
“Imperio.”
A/N:
I had the beginning of this story sitting around for a while, and decided to polish it off before publishing (even if it’s far from perfect). The holidays have my schedule messed up, so I figured I’d publish something I had on hand rather than nothing at all. This might not be the only new fic I put out either
Apologies for the first chapter being short, as it’s more of a prologue. Next chapter will make up for that
More to come tomorrow!

2026-01-13 23:18:39 +0000 UTCSo this sets in the Prisoner of Azkaban. I must say it starts off interesting and is due to be quite the story. Looking forward to more and Harry finding out more about his family line something Albus surely hasn’t told him. He won’t have a good reaction about the man he trusted most keeping such a secret from him. Not to mention finding out that he has a new guardian and due to a contract he not only has a new three betrothed, one of them is his guardian and her daughters! Can’t wait for how this story unfolds and looking forward to more chapters!

2025-12-25 07:32:24 +0000 UTCI guess the only concern I have here is the Imperio curse. If the ministry had just been by recently to handle the Marge situation, the monitoring magic would probably be keyed into the location for any potential problems that could still develop, even if Harry is known to be in a different location. Having her cast that spell, on a location that was recently visited because of magic use, should trigger a response. Especially on the off chance someone has potentially followed up and could harm the BWL's family...
