I do not draw shadow and light with "colour" I use a tone-correction-layer 2 for the main shading: the inner shading of the object and 2 for the light-spots.
Then I added a lot of global light with same kind of layers.
-> in the most colour-systems you have 3 colour channels: Red, Green, Blue.
They describe there lumination of each singe pixel with a value from 0 to 255.
So what I do with that knowledge is to say. dude, with that layer all spots I mark with the layermask you put the maximum of 255 to 200 . so every spot is up to 5% brighter. there while I decide different values for blue green and red to get some more yellow in that light instead of just white.
For the light at the town I increased a lot of the blue in the light, cause the reflected light on far objects have a lot of way to "walk" through the ear to reach your eye, while that the light looses energy.
The colours in the light are different  wavelength, with different energy level. And the wavelength of blue is the lowest and so it's the most resistant wave, that's way fare objects not just get foggy they also get bluish. BTW UV-light is eaven more resistance to walk trough stuff, that's Y you get burned even with clothes on your body ;O

... about that :D I just put a light cone on the window, cause that's where teh light cames from, increased it on some borders of objects like on the Flore directly under the window

I changed a lot since the last update I really had a talk about that pic :D

for the table-top I used 3 tipes of brown and mixed em up a lot :D and then I used 2 cinds of brown for the tablecloth  But the most thing on it is light and shadow.

... about that :D I just put a light cone on the window, cause that's where the light came from, increased it on some borders of objects like on the floor directly under the window and the curtains.
And I did the opposite.  Darkness from the inner room. Increased opposition sides of objects to the window. especially behind the table and the viewers left side of the guitar.

light ... let came to reflections now ... I was thinking of creating red light from the curtains on the floor. like it's a really glossy floor ... I did not :D but i copied the Lamp and the table and created some mirroring on the window. As I did with the bushes and the buildings on the water. on the buildings I used a nice style filter in PS "Wind-effect" that way I created the look of waves in the mirroring. I overworked it by hand and added light and shadow on the waves ;)
I also created additional light on the "window". Therefore I just made big stripes in an angle that is not usual for the landscape outa window, but like there is another surface, called window I guess :D

in an additional shadow layer in the room I tried to cast some fogish shading, getting increased while getting deeper in the room. Just to create more distance from the wall to the viewer. A big play to gather with the light I created from the window.

:D on the cover of the book's I was inspired on my own study book's ;D
my mathematics and digitalengineering book.

I also add yellow and a deeper skin tone to her soles, to make them look a bit bather ... still not one of my best foot work there :D

I had a lot of thinking of getting her music stand more in the middle of the room, like it's standing right behind her legs and her legs should also be more in the distance to the window ... but it do not went out so much like I wanted it ^^'

When I'm back at my flat I pan to bring the socks back in to the picture,  I drawed in the early lines. Also I like to add some tinys having fun around here ^^ ... and smell! And sweat!!
