I can't say I root for villains, but it's so much more enjoyable when they really do manage to make you respect them beyond "I am bad guy, I do bad things". Every Homonculus is so well crafted with their unique convictions and representation of their "sin" that it's hard to really match them in terms of a fleshed out rogue's gallery.

The inability to connect with your son because you are too much alike? Every episode in the finale of fma are a reflection of the end of evangelion movie... But with a creator who is more mentally sound and balanced... Eva, Aot, and fmab have so much in common and few see it... I love them all and I'm glad they influenced each other.

All of the plots converge and you get the payoff that the series has been working towards. Of all the anime I've watched throughout the years fmab gives me the most satisfying story told. I'm usually not a fan of any series that just keeps going seemingly with no end.
