It's one of those little things they don't call attention to, but now he is returning long hard spike after spike, and usually getting it to a good high place. Tanaka didn't used to be as good at using the blockers' hands, getting blocked if he couldn't spike free, but he has been getting better at that ever since the match with Nekoma. Daichi has been getting better and better at spiking, and Tsuki has gotten a lot better at aiming his serves. And even Hinata does normal but very solid serves that never hit the net anymore. Not every bit of growth is advertised, but it is steady and obvious if you binge-watch the series.
