Manga reader here, that is indeed not Zenitsu’s blood related grandpa, he was an orphan. But, after years of being together Zenitsu grew to love him as if he was his actual family, so he calls him grandpa uwu

Yea Zenitsu talked about it before he got swindled by some girl and racked up a lot of debt, but Gramps took it over in exchange for Zenitsu becoming his student. But I don't think they're related, otherwise the other student probably wouldn't have got so mad at him.

It's hard to say. I got the impression it was not Zenitsu's actual grandpa. Just somebody who took him in. I think there was scene where he asked why he called him Ojii instead of something else. Ojii-san is something they use to refer to clearly older, senior males as well as a grandpa. Confusingly, Oji (vs Ojii) is for an older male or uncle.

As someone constantly getting in their own way, this is my interpretation as well.

Small point of clarification: the swords are made out of an ore that can absorb sunlight so they are the only weapons that can kill a demon by cutting off their head or using the monk's robe cut we learned about last episode. Any other type of metal will work on a demon to cut or pierce them, it just can't kill them on it's own.

I only watch the anime, but my interpretation of Zenitsu's two sides is that he's so gripped by fear and self-doubt, his training only shows itself when he's unconscious and those things are out of the way.
