Imagine if Episode 16 was not part of the double drop and the Gals had to suffer through the wait to the next scheduled episode. I don't think they would make it. 😂

They are intelligent, perceptive and able to read the other team and their own players well. The only thing holding them back is personality. They need to mature into their roles. Alternately, Hinata could be a Captain in the way that Bokuto is Captain - an inspirational leader who leaves the thinking and planning to his lieutenants.

In all seriousness, losing Daichi in this match is devastating not just because of his leadership and the loss of morale, but he’s a cornerstone in Karasuno’s defense (in another life he probably would be a good libero). This episode always gets me thinking about who among the first years will be Captain in the future. All the first years have a lot of growing to do, but as of right now, I don’t think any of the first years would be a good fit.
