Also, I am a libero and I used to be the backup libero for Cal State Northridge. I could never start due to height. I'm 5'8 starting libero was 6'1. Now I play in local rec leagues in LA. My cousin plays as a setter at a high school in Japan. He said most high school teams there designate a defensive specialist as their opposite rather than a hitter. Thats why you dont really see daichi hit that much.

Yay! Hypekyu day! Just to clarify the guy who hit on Kiyoko isn't a top ace. He was part of the montage when Ukai was mentioning the top 4 teams in the qualifier. He's from a team called Johzenji. They'll show up next i think. This tournament is basically trying to see who gets to represent Miyagi Prefecture at Nationals. Most prefectures can only send one team. Its always Shiratorizawa because they always win. All throughout Haikyu they mention the top 5 aces in the country. Ushiwaka from Shiratorizawa is 3rd, Bokuto fluctuates between 4 and 5. The other 3 top aces you'll meet throughout the show.

In the previous match Asahi served first and believe he usually does in the upcoming matches. I think the reason Tskui served first in this game was because they didn't want him to be matched up against Hyakuzawa. Could be wrong on that so if anyone else disagrees/knows the reason why please let me know :)
