Man I do love the characters in these shows except gluttony. Scar as a character is so interesting. Ed with the save of Winry.

Yep, this only episode 22; you're only about a third of the way through the show! :P

I love how this episode not only showcases the cycle of violence, with Scar becoming the very monster he hates, but also shows the parallels between the Elric brothers and Scar and his brother. Going so far as to show both older brothers willing to sacrifice their right arms to save their little brothers.

At around 4 minutes you say "The show hates us so much." when you see them walking to Hugh's grave. Its more that the show loves the characters so much that they wanna do them service x3.

I actually really like that they drown you in the memories and images of Nina and Hughes. You may understand the pain these boys are going through but the show wants you to live through it and feel the conviction Ed and Al have at resolving their mistake without the cost of life. Otherwise they'll be forever haunted and broken.
Another reason why you get Attack on Titan vibes from FMA:B is because these 2 shows have deep influences of Nazi Germany geopolitics, I think. I could be wording it incorrectly.
Thanks for another emotionally compromised reaction.
Now I gotta get me some ice cream and eat my sorrows again.

To give credit where it is due, Ling was still standing after an extended engagement with Bradley. Even Greed had trouble with that, although Greed did not take him seriously at the start, so he started on the wrong foot.
These flashbacks were rough. This show takes place in a brutally realistic world. (Despite the "magic" of alchemy) People don't just get over their trauma. Terrible things that they have seen and done haunt them for the rest of their lives, and everyone has their own issues.
On the bright side, this wasn't a blatant cliffhanger! Sure there are fights still happening, but the final scene gave a little closure,
