2021-01-16 20:11:32 +0000 UTCI think one of the key things they did in this animation is making sure that small random items stay in motion from frame to frame. Backgrounds are pretty static, but people's hair, hands, and clothes are often shifting slightly, even when they're not the focus of the scene, really making them feel present in the space. I really liked the fight between Benedict and Cattleya, it's so random and we barely know anything about it, so it makes the characters feel like their lives actually continue offscreen. Violet being a wounded veteran herself, may have helped her identify with Spencer. I get the feeling that a lot of flowery words wouldn't have reached him as well as Violet's military directness did. Glad you all are so enchanted with the show thus far. :)
